Setup and Operation

1. Setting the Time and Date

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch) to the first click position to set the date, or to the second click position to set the time.
  2. Adjust the date: If in the first click position, turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise until the desired date appears in the date window.
  3. Adjust the time: If in the second click position, turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the correct time. Be mindful of AM/PM when setting the time, especially if the watch has a 24-hour indicator or if you are setting the date.
  4. Push in the crown: Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into its original position to start the watch and ensure water resistance.

2. Adjusting the Band (Steel Bracelet)

Your OLEVS 9945 watch with a steel bracelet comes with a meter adjuster tool for resizing. Follow these general steps:

  1. Identify removable links: Look for small arrows on the inside of the bracelet links, indicating the direction to push out the pins.
  2. Position the tool: Place the bracelet in the meter adjuster tool with the arrow pointing towards the tool's pin.
  3. Remove pins: Slowly turn the screw on the tool to push the pin out of the link. Repeat for as many links as needed to achieve the desired fit.
  4. Reassemble: Once the desired number of links are removed, align the remaining links and insert the pins back in the opposite direction of the arrows. Gently tap the pins until they are flush with the bracelet.

If you are unsure, it is recommended to have a professional jeweler adjust the band to avoid damage.

3. Luminous Function

The watch features a high-definition luminous coating on the hands and hour markers. After exposure to light, these elements will glow in the dark, allowing for easy time reading in low-light conditions. The luminous effect is temporary and requires re-exposure to light to recharge.

Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. For the stainless steel bracelet, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Water Resistance: The OLEVS 9945 watch is water-resistant up to 30 meters (3 ATM). This means it is suitable for daily use, such as hand washing and light rain. It is NOT suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, diving, or any activities involving hot water or steam, as this can compromise the seals and cause damage. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) or sudden temperature changes, as this can affect the movement and battery life.
  • Chemicals: Keep the watch away from chemicals such as perfumes, cosmetics, cleaning agents, and solvents, which can damage the case, strap, or seals.
  • Impact: Protect your watch from strong impacts or shocks, which can damage the internal mechanism or exterior components.
  • Battery: The watch is powered by a quartz battery. When the watch stops or the second hand starts skipping, it's an indication that the battery needs to be replaced. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and function.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch not running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
  • Time is inaccurate: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in after setting the time. If the issue persists, the watch may require servicing or a battery replacement.
  • Date not changing: Verify that the time is set correctly, especially past midnight. If the date changes at noon, it means the watch is set 12 hours off. Adjust the time by 12 hours.
  • Condensation under the crystal: This indicates a breach in water resistance. Avoid further contact with water and seek professional servicing immediately to prevent internal damage.

User Tips

  • For optimal luminous performance, expose the watch dial to a bright light source for a few minutes before entering a dark environment.
  • Regularly check the watch band for any signs of wear or loose pins, especially after adjusting the steel bracelet.
  • Store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields when not in use.
