Controls and Indicators:

  • ON/OFF Switch: Located on both the transmitter and receiver for powering the units on or off.
  • 48V Switch (Transmitter only): Activates 48V phantom power for condenser microphones. Turn off for dynamic microphones to conserve battery.
  • Battery Indicator LEDs: Four LEDs on each unit display the current battery level.
  • Charging Port (Receiver only): USB-C port for charging the internal battery.

Setup Instructions

  1. Charging the Units

Before first use, fully charge both the transmitter and receiver using the provided USB charging cable. Connect the cable to the charging port on each unit and a standard USB power adapter (not included). The battery indicator LEDs will show charging progress and a full charge typically takes about 2 hours.

  4. Powering On

Turn on both the transmitter and receiver using their respective ON/OFF switches. The units should automatically pair. The battery indicator LEDs will illuminate.

  5. 48V Phantom Power (for Condenser Microphones)

If you are using a condenser microphone, slide the 48V switch on the transmitter to the 'ON' position. For dynamic microphones, ensure this switch is in the 'OFF' position to conserve battery life, as dynamic microphones do not require phantom power.

Operating Instructions

Once set up, the POGOLAB wireless system operates on a 2.4GHz frequency band, providing a stable connection for your audio needs.

  • Wireless Range: The system offers a transmission range of up to 150 feet (approximately 45 meters), allowing for significant mobility during performances or presentations.

  • Battery Life: A full charge provides approximately 12 hours of working time with dynamic microphones. When using condenser microphones with 48V phantom power enabled, the working time will be reduced due to increased power consumption. It is recommended to test the actual usage time with your condenser mic before critical performances.
  • Applications: This system is suitable for a wide range of uses including live performances, home karaoke, meetings, interviews, and recording sessions.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the units frequently. Recharge them regularly, even if not in constant use.

Troubleshooting

No Sound Output:
  • Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are powered on and fully charged.
  • Check all XLR connections between the microphone, transmitter, receiver, and audio mixer/PA system.
  • Verify that the audio mixer/PA system input is correctly selected and its gain is appropriately set.
  • If using a condenser mic, ensure the 48V phantom power switch on the transmitter is ON.
Interference or Noise:
  • The system operates on 2.4GHz. Ensure there are no other strong 2.4GHz wireless devices (e.g., Wi-Fi routers, other wireless microphones) operating too close to the system, which could cause interference.
  • Check for any loose connections.
  • Adjust the gain settings on your audio mixer to prevent clipping or excessive noise.
Short Battery Life with Condenser Mic:
  • Condenser microphones require 48V phantom power, which consumes more battery. This is normal behavior.
  • Always fully charge the units before use.
  • Consider having a backup power source or a wired connection for extended sessions with condenser microphones.
Multiple Units Usage:
  • This system is designed for a single transmitter-receiver pair. Using multiple pairs simultaneously in close proximity may lead to interference. If multiple wireless channels are required, consider systems designed for multi-channel operation.

User Tips

  • Phantom Power Management: Always remember to switch off the 48V phantom power on the transmitter when using dynamic microphones to maximize battery life. Only activate it for condenser microphones.
  • Pre-Performance Testing: If using a condenser microphone for a critical event, perform a full battery life test beforehand to understand its actual duration, as phantom power significantly impacts battery consumption.
  • Enjoy Freedom of Movement: This wireless system is designed to eliminate microphone cables, providing you with greater mobility on stage or during presentations. Take advantage of the 150ft range to move freely.
  • Minimize Interference: While the 2.4GHz band is common, try to keep the system away from other strong 2.4GHz devices to ensure the clearest signal.
