5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

The MiLESEEY R2/R2B is battery-powered. Batteries are not included with the device due to shipping regulations. Please purchase the appropriate batteries separately.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the device.
  2. Open the cover by sliding or unscrewing it as indicated.
  3. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Measurement

To perform a basic measurement:

  1. Turn on the device by pressing the power button.
  2. Point the laser at the target surface.
  3. Press the 'MEAS' button to take a measurement. The result will be displayed on the screen.

6.2 Multiple Measurement Modes

The device supports various measurement modes to suit different needs:

  • Single Measurement: For a quick, one-time distance reading.
  • Continuous Measurement: Provides real-time distance updates as you move the device.
  • Area Measurement: Calculates the area of a rectangular space.
  • Volume Measurement: Calculates the volume of a space.
  • Triangular Area Measurement: Calculates the area of a triangle.
  • Pythagoras (3-point) 1 & 2: For indirect height or distance measurements using the Pythagorean theorem.
  • Auto Level: Automatically determines horizontal alignment.
  • Auto Height: Automatically determines vertical height.

6.3 Wheel Measurement (R2 and R2B)

The built-in wheel allows for accurate measurement of curved surfaces, which traditional laser measures cannot handle.

  1. Select the wheel measurement mode.
  2. Roll the wheel along the curved surface you wish to measure.
  3. The distance will be displayed on the screen.

6.4 Digital Angle Sensor

The device features a digital angle sensor with an accuracy of up to ±0.3°, aiding in more precise measurements, especially for auto-level and auto-height functions.

6.5 Point-to-Point (P2P) Measurement (R2B Exclusive)

The R2B model offers P2P functionality for advanced measurements:

  1. Aim at the first target point and take a measurement.
  2. Rotate the device around its reference center.
  3. Aim at the second target point and take another measurement.
  4. The screen will display the angle between the two hypotenuses, the length of the two measurements, and the distance between these two points.

6.6 Laser Line Marking (R2B Exclusive)

The R2B model can project a red laser line for marking and alignment tasks:

  • Laser Line Marking Function: Mark the red laser line on your target. The real-time angle of the laser line is displayed on the screen and changes with the device's angle.
  • Auxiliary Marking Function: Assists in locating various angles (horizontal, vertical) for DIY and decoration projects.
