Programming the Remote Control
To program your new remote control to your SOMMER garage door operator, follow these steps:
- Activate Programming Mode on the Garage Door Operator:
First, you need to switch the radio receiver of your garage door operator to programming mode. To do this, open the housing of your garage door operator and locate the programming button (often labeled ENR, MEMO, PROG, or REC, or simply 'Radio'). Press this button. A red LED on the control unit will light up, indicating it's in programming mode. The control unit is typically located in the motor carriage or within the control unit housing. - Select Radio Channel (if applicable):
Press the 'Radio' button repeatedly on the garage door operator's control unit to select the desired radio channel (CH1, CH2, CH3, or CH4). If no transmission command is received within approximately 30 seconds of pressing the 'Radio' button, the radio receiver will automatically switch back to normal operating mode. - Program the Remote Button:
While the garage door operator is in programming mode (red LED lit), press and hold a button on your new remote control for one second, then release it. - Confirmation:
The LED on your receiver will blink and then turn off immediately or within 10 seconds, indicating successful programming. The LED may also light differently to confirm success. - Exit Programming Mode:
Wait a few seconds for the garage door operator to automatically exit programming mode.
