4. Setup Guide

4.1 Physical Installation

  1. **Insert SIM Card:** Locate the SIM card slot on the device. Carefully insert your active 4G/5G SIM card until it clicks into place.
  2. **Attach Antennas:** Screw the six provided antennas onto their respective ports on the router. Ensure they are finger-tight. The ports are labeled for 5G and 2.4G/5.8G.
  3. **Mounting:**
    • **Pole Mounting:** Use the provided mounting bracket and hoops to securely attach the router to an outdoor pole. Ensure the router is positioned for optimal signal reception.
    • **Wall Mounting:** The bracket can also be used for wall mounting. Secure the bracket to a sturdy surface using appropriate screws (not included), then attach the router.

4.2 Power and Network Connection

  1. **Connect Network Cable:** Connect one end of the Ethernet network cable to the 2.5Gbps WAN port on the router.
  2. **Connect POE Charger:** Connect the other end of the network cable to the POE (Power over Ethernet) port on the POE charger.
  3. **Power On:** Connect the POE charger to a power outlet using the power cord. The router will power on automatically.

**Note:** The CP520 supports standard POE (IEEE 802.3af/at) and requires a 48V/1A POE power supply. Ensure your POE switch or injector matches this standard.

5. Operation

5.1 Initial Access and Configuration

  1. **Connect to WiFi:** On your computer or mobile device, connect to the router's default Wi-Fi network. The default Wi-Fi Key is typically "123456789".
  2. **Access Web Portal:** Open a web browser and navigate to the Web Portal IP address: 192.168.100.1.
  3. **Login:** Enter the default username and password. The default password is "admin".
  4. **Configure Settings:** Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your 5G/4G network settings, Wi-Fi name (SSID), password, and other advanced features like Firewall, QoS, and VPN.

5.2 LED Indicators

The router features several LED indicators to show its status:

  • **Link Power:** Indicates the power status of the device.
  • **RF Signal:** Shows the strength of the cellular (4G/5G) signal.
  • **SIM Signal:** Indicates the status of the inserted SIM card.
  • **SYS Signal:** System status indicator.

6. Maintenance

  • **Cleaning:** Regularly wipe the exterior of the router with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • **Environmental Protection:** The IP67 waterproof rating ensures protection against dust and water immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It is designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions including sun, rain, snow, thunder, and extreme temperatures (-20℃ to +50℃ operating range).

7. Troubleshooting

  • **No Power:**
    • Ensure the POE charger is properly connected to a power outlet and the network cable is securely connected to both the router and the POE charger.
    • Verify the power outlet is functional.
  • **No Internet Connection:**
    • Check if the SIM card is correctly inserted and active.
    • Verify cellular signal strength via the RF Signal LED. If weak, try repositioning the router.
    • Log into the web portal (192.168.100.1) and check the network status and APN settings.
    • Ensure your ISP plan supports the 4G/5G bands used by the router.
  • **Slow Wi-Fi Speed:**
    • Check the cellular signal strength.
    • Ensure your connected devices support WiFi 6 (802.11ax) for optimal performance.
    • Reduce the distance between your devices and the router, or consider using mesh technology for wider coverage.
    • Limit the number of connected devices if performance degrades significantly.
  • **Cannot Access Web Portal:**
    • Ensure your device is connected to the router's Wi-Fi or directly via Ethernet.
    • Verify you are using the correct IP address (192.168.100.1) and login credentials (default: admin/admin).
    • Try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser.
    • Perform a factory reset if you have forgotten the login credentials or if the interface is unresponsive.

  • **Fixed Wireless Access (FWA):** The CP520 is well-suited for Fixed Wireless Access applications, providing reliable internet where traditional wired connections are unavailable or impractical.
  • **Security:** Change the default Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password, as well as the router's admin password, immediately after initial setup to enhance security.
