WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

  • Work Area Safety: Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection (safety glasses or goggles) and hearing protection when operating the drill. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection for relevant conditions. Dress properly; do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair and clothing away from moving parts.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
  • Battery Pack Use and Care: Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

5.2 Installing/Removing the Battery Pack

  • Installation: Align the battery pack with the base of the drill handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
  • Removal: Press the battery pack release button and slide the battery pack out of the handle.

5.3 Installing/Removing Drill Bits or Screwdriver Bits

The 3/8" keyless chuck allows for quick and easy bit changes:

  1. Turn the front part of the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
  2. Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck. Ensure the bit is centered and fully seated.
  3. Turn the front part of the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the bit. Ensure the bit is secure before operation.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Selecting Speed

The drill features a 2-speed gear switch located on top of the tool:

  • Low Speed (0-350 RPM): Ideal for screwdriving applications and drilling larger holes where more torque is needed.
  • High Speed (0-1350 RPM): Suitable for drilling smaller holes and applications requiring faster rotation.

6.2 Adjusting Torque

The torque adjustment ring allows you to set the amount of rotational force the drill applies. This is crucial for screwdriving to prevent over-tightening or stripping screws.

  • Settings 1-18: Use lower settings for smaller screws and softer materials, and higher settings for larger screws and harder materials.
  • Drill Bit Symbol: Select this setting for drilling applications, which provides maximum torque.

6.3 Forward/Reverse Operation

The forward/reverse switch, located above the trigger, controls the direction of the chuck rotation:

  • Pushing the switch to the left (from the operator's perspective) sets the drill to forward rotation (clockwise), for drilling and driving screws.
  • Pushing the switch to the right sets the drill to reverse rotation (counter-clockwise), for removing screws or backing out drill bits.
  • Placing the switch in the center position locks the trigger, preventing accidental startup.

6.4 Using the LED Worklight

The integrated LED worklight automatically illuminates when the trigger is pressed, providing better visibility in dimly lit work areas.

6.5 General Operation Tips

  • Always hold the drill firmly with both hands, especially when drilling into tough materials.
  • Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the drill.
  • For drilling, start with a pilot hole if necessary, especially in hard materials or near edges to prevent splitting.
  • When driving screws, ensure the bit is fully engaged with the screw head to prevent cam-out.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your drill.

  • Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings of the tool clean to prevent overheating. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the tool. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Care: Store battery packs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not store battery packs in a discharged state for extended periods.
  • Chuck Maintenance: Periodically clean the chuck jaws to ensure proper gripping of bits. Remove any dust or debris that may accumulate.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the power tool and battery pack for any signs of damage, loose parts, or wear. If any damage is found, do not use the tool and contact customer support.

10. User Tips

  • Pre-Drill for Hard Materials: For very hard wood or metal, consider drilling a small pilot hole before driving screws to prevent stripping or breaking.
  • Match Torque to Task: Experiment with the torque settings on scrap material to find the ideal setting for your specific screw size and material to avoid over-driving or under-driving.
  • Battery Management: For optimal battery life, avoid completely draining the battery before recharging. Store batteries with a partial charge if not used for extended periods.
  • Bit Selection: Always use the correct type and size of bit for the job. Using worn or incorrect bits can damage the screw head or the material.
  • Keep Bits Organized: Utilize the included magnetic bit holder and storage case to keep your bits organized and easily accessible.
