5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the device.
  2. Open the cover and insert the provided AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press and hold the power button (U) until the screen illuminates.
  • To power off: Press and hold the power button (U) again until the screen turns off.

5.3 Initial Settings

Upon first use or after a reset, you may need to configure basic settings:

  • Units: Navigate through the menu using the 'SET' button to select your preferred unit of measurement (e.g., meters, feet, inches).
  • Reference Point: Choose the measurement reference point (front, rear, or tripod mount).
  • Bluetooth: Enable Bluetooth in the settings to connect to compatible devices for data transfer.

6. Operation

6.1 Basic Distance Measurement

  1. Power on the device.
  2. Point the laser at the target.
  3. Press the 'MEAS' button once to activate the laser.
  4. Press 'MEAS' again to take a measurement. The result will be displayed on the screen.

6.2 Using the Live Camera and Laser Point Tracing

The P9 features a live camera and laser point tracing for enhanced outdoor targeting:

  1. Activate the camera mode (refer to the on-screen menu or dedicated camera button).
  2. The screen will display a live view with a crosshair indicating the laser target.
  3. Adjust the device until the crosshair is precisely on your desired measurement point.
  4. Press 'MEAS' to take the measurement. The camera frame automatically locks the laser point, ensuring accuracy.

6.4 Data and Picture Management

The device can store up to 1000 sets of data and 100 pictures.

  • Screenshot: In camera mode, use the designated button to take a screenshot of the measurement with the live view.
  • Storage: Measurements and screenshots are automatically saved to the device's internal memory.
  • Export: Connect the device to a computer using the USB cable to export stored data and pictures.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Keep the laser aperture and camera lens clean and free of dust or debris.

7.2 Storage

  • Store the device in its protective case when not in use.
  • Avoid storing in extreme temperatures or high humidity.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

7.3 Charging

The P9 supports wireless charging. Place the device on a compatible wireless charging pad to recharge. Ensure the device is properly aligned for efficient charging.
