5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the device.
- Open the cover and insert the provided AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5.2 Powering On/Off
- To power on: Press and hold the power button (U) until the screen illuminates.
- To power off: Press and hold the power button (U) again until the screen turns off.
5.3 Initial Settings
Upon first use or after a reset, you may need to configure basic settings:
- Units: Navigate through the menu using the 'SET' button to select your preferred unit of measurement (e.g., meters, feet, inches).

6. Operation
6.1 Basic Distance Measurement
- Power on the device.
- Point the laser at the target.
- Press the 'MEAS' button once to activate the laser.
- Press 'MEAS' again to take a measurement. The result will be displayed on the screen.
6.2 Using the Live Camera and Laser Point Tracing
The P9 features a live camera and laser point tracing for enhanced outdoor targeting:
- Activate the camera mode (refer to the on-screen menu or dedicated camera button).

6.4 Data and Picture Management
The device can store up to 1000 sets of data and 100 pictures.
- Screenshot: In camera mode, use the designated button to take a screenshot of the measurement with the live view.
- Storage: Measurements and screenshots are automatically saved to the device's internal memory.
- Export: Connect the device to a computer using the USB cable to export stored data and pictures.
