- Connect the other end of the cable to a USB power source.
- During charging, the LED indicator light will flash red.
- Once fully charged, the LED indicator light will show green continuously.
- If the LED indicator light is purple when starting up or during operation, it indicates a low battery level and requires charging.

2. Wearing the Armband
For accurate heart rate monitoring, proper placement and fit are essential.
- Wear the armband on the upper portion of your forearm.
- Ensure the sensor (the part with the optical sensors) is positioned on the outside or the top of your forearm.
- The armband should be worn snugly enough so it does not move on your arm during activity.
- Do NOT wear it too tightly, as this can restrict arm circulation and affect accuracy.

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off
- To Power On: Wear the armband, then press the start-up button located on the top of the armband. The breathing LED will blink quickly.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the start-up button for 2 seconds. The red LED will turn on, then flash to enter shutdown mode.
2. Connecting to Devices and Apps (ANT+ & BLE)
The Blackbird HR5 supports dual protocol communication (ANT+ and BLE) for broad compatibility.
- Ensure the HR5 armband is powered on and worn correctly.
- For Bluetooth (BLE) Devices/Apps:
- Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone, cycling computer, or other compatible device.
- Open your preferred sports app (e.g., JAWorikout, Wahoo Fitness, Polar beat, Strava, Zwift, Onelap, Viscene, KEEP).
- Search for heart rate peripherals within the app's settings and connect to the Blackbird HR5.
- For ANT+ Devices:
- Ensure your ANT+ compatible device (e.g., cycling computer like XOSS, IGPSPORT, Garmin, Wahoo) is powered on.
- The HR5 can be searched and connected directly by ANT+ devices once the armband is turned on.

- Inaccurate heart rate readings:
- Check if the armband is worn correctly and snugly on the upper forearm.

- For ANT+ connections, ensure your device supports ANT+ and is searching for sensors.
- Try restarting both the HR5 and your connecting device.
- Short battery life: Ensure the device is fully charged before each use. Extreme temperatures can affect battery performance.
