5. Setup and Initial Use
5.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the DeepVNA 101, locate the ON/OFF switch on the right side of the device and slide it to the 'ON' position. The device will boot up and display the DEEPELEC logo and firmware information.

To power off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.
5.2 Charging
Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the 'Type-C Charging' port on the device and a suitable USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The device uses a 5000mAh/3.7V rechargeable battery pack.
5.3 Connecting Antennas/Devices
Use the provided SMA cables and connectors to attach your antenna or device under test to PORT 1 (S11) or PORT 2 (S21) as required for your measurement. For SWR measurements, typically PORT 1 is used.

6. Operation
6.1 Navigation and Input
The DeepVNA 101 features a resistive touch screen and a rotary encoder for navigation. The rotary encoder provides convenient and smooth control for menu selection and value adjustment. The touch screen allows direct interaction with on-screen elements.
Special Reminder: The resistive touch screen operates based on pressure sensing. Installing a screen protector may affect touch screen operation. It is recommended not to install one unless necessary.
6.2 Basic Measurements
The device can perform various measurements, including S11 (reflection) and S21 (transmission).

6.3 Setting Frequency
The frequency setting can be configured using either the start and end frequency mode or the center span mode. Use the touch screen or rotary encoder to input desired frequency values.
6.4 Brightness Adjustment
The screen brightness can be adjusted via the menu. Navigate to the brightness setting and use the rotary encoder or touch input to change the level.

6.5 Saving Measurement Data
Measurement data can be saved to the internal 16MB memory. Files are automatically named in YYMMDD_HHMMSS format, thanks to the new RTC function.

6.6 Setting Date and Time (RTC)
The device includes a Real-Time Clock (RTC) for accurate timestamping of saved data. You can set the date and time through the device's menu.

6.7 Dynamic Range Display
The device provides a clear dynamic range display for accurate signal analysis.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the DeepVNA 101 in its protective case when not in use to prevent damage. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device regularly, even if not in active use, to maintain battery health.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source using the Type-C cable and try again.
- Touch screen unresponsive: If a screen protector is installed, try removing it as it may interfere with the resistive touch functionality. Ensure the screen is clean and dry.
- Inaccurate measurements: Perform a calibration using the provided calibration pieces (OPEN, SHORT, LOAD) before critical measurements. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Firmware issues: Check the official support website for the latest firmware updates and installation instructions.
9. User Tips
- Calibration is Key: Always perform a proper calibration with the provided OPEN, SHORT, and LOAD standards before taking measurements, especially when changing frequency ranges or cables, to ensure accuracy.
- Protective Case: Utilize the included EVA protective bag to safeguard your device during transport and storage.
- Rotary Encoder vs. Touch: Experiment with both the rotary encoder and touch screen for navigation to find your preferred method for different tasks. The rotary encoder can offer more precise control for fine adjustments.
