2. Safety Information

• This charger is for indoor use only. Protect it from rain and moisture.
• Ensure the charger is connected to a power outlet with the correct polarity.
• Do not charge LiFePO4 batteries without a Battery Management System (BMS).
• Avoid carrying the charger with the vehicle to prevent shock or damage.
• Always disconnect the AC power before connecting or disconnecting the battery clamps.
• Ensure good ventilation during charging. Do not cover the charger.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use the charger if it has been dropped or damaged.

4. Specifications

5. Setup

1. Prepare the Battery: Ensure the battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. If charging a wet cell battery, check the electrolyte level and top up with distilled water if necessary.
2. Connect the Charger to the Battery:
   • Connect the RED (+) positive clamp to the positive terminal of the battery.
   • Connect the BLACK (-) negative clamp to the negative terminal of the battery.
   • Ensure a secure connection.

3. Connect to Power: Plug the charger's AC power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The charger will power on and display information on the LCD screen.

6. Operating Instructions

Automatic Mode Detection:

The charger automatically detects the battery voltage (12V or 24V) and adjusts the charging parameters accordingly. It also features intelligent temperature compensation, automatically switching between Summer Mode (above 28°C) and Winter Mode (below 10°C) for optimal charging in different climates.

Selecting Charging Modes:

Press the 'MODE' button on the charger to cycle through the available charging modes. The LCD screen will indicate the selected mode:

• STD (Standard): For standard lead-acid batteries.
• AGM/LiFePO4: For AGM, Gel, EFB, and LiFePO4 batteries.
• MOTORCYCLE: For smaller 12V motorcycle batteries.
• TKL (Trickle Charge): For long-term maintenance charging.
• REPAIR (Pulse Repair): For desulfation and reconditioning of deeply discharged or sulfated batteries.

9-Stage Smart Charging Process:

The charger employs a sophisticated 9-stage charging algorithm for optimal battery health and longevity:

1. Battery Desulfation: Removes sulfate deposits from battery lead plates.
2. Soft Start Charging: Gradually introduces current to the battery.
3. Bulk Charging: Charges the battery to approximately 80% capacity at maximum current.
4. Absorption Charging: Charges the battery to 100% at a decreasing current.
5. Trickle Charging: Maintains the battery at full charge with a small current.
6. Battery Test: Checks battery condition.
7. Recondition Charging: Further reconditions the battery if needed.
8. Monitor and Analysis: Continuously monitors battery status.
9. Float & Maintenance Charging: Keeps the battery at optimal voltage for extended periods.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the charger's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives.
• Storage: Store the charger in a cool, dry place when not in use. Ensure cables are neatly coiled and not kinked.
• Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect the input and output cables, as well as the battery clamps, for any signs of damage, fraying, or corrosion. Replace if damaged.
• Ventilation: Ensure the cooling fan and vents are free from dust and debris to maintain proper airflow.

8. Troubleshooting

• Charger not turning on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the charger and the electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is live.
• No charging activity: Verify that the battery clamps are correctly and securely connected to the battery terminals (red to positive, black to negative). The charger has non-battery link protection.
• Error message on display: Refer to the specific error code (if any) on the LCD. Common issues include reverse polarity (reconnect clamps correctly), overvoltage (battery voltage too high for selected mode), or short circuit (check for exposed wires or faulty connections).
• Slow charging: Ensure the correct charging mode is selected for your battery type. Check the battery's capacity (Ah) to ensure it's within the charger's recommended range.
• Charger gets hot: Some heat is normal during operation. The NC215 has a powerful cooling system. If it becomes excessively hot or shuts down, ensure vents are clear and ambient temperature is within operating limits.

9. User Tips

• Motorcycle Batteries: The charger can charge motorcycle batteries. For 12V motorcycle batteries, ensure the capacity is between 2Ah-200Ah. Select the 'MOTORCYCLE' mode for optimized charging.
• Battery Capacity Check: Always check the Amp-hour (Ah) capacity of your battery before charging to ensure it falls within the charger's specified range (12V: 2Ah-200Ah; 24V: 2Ah-100Ah).
• Long-Term Storage: Use the 'TKL' (Trickle Charge) mode for maintaining batteries during periods of inactivity, such as winter storage for vehicles or boats.
• Pulse Repair Function: The 'REPAIR' mode is effective for older, deeply discharged, or sulfated batteries. However, it may not revive all batteries, especially those with internal damage.
