The XGP X1 is designed for universal compatibility with most riding helmets. Choose the appropriate mounting bracket and microphone for your helmet type.

4.1 Choosing Your Microphone:

  • Boom Microphone: Ideal for open-face or modular helmets where the microphone can be positioned close to your mouth.
  • Button Microphone: Suitable for full-face helmets where the microphone can be discreetly placed inside the helmet lining.

4.2 Mounting the Headset:

  1. Select Bracket: Choose between the metal clamp bracket or the 3M adhesive sticker bracket based on your helmet's design and your preference.
  2. Positioning: Identify a suitable flat surface on the left side of your helmet for mounting the main unit. Ensure it does not obstruct your vision or helmet functionality.
  3. Secure Attachment: Follow the instructions provided with your chosen bracket to securely attach it to the helmet.
  4. Attach Main Unit: Slide the X1 main unit onto the mounted bracket until it clicks into place.

4.3 Speaker and Microphone Installation:

  1. Speaker Placement: Attach the 40mm Hi-Fi speakers inside your helmet, aligning them with your ears. Use the provided speaker pads for comfort and optimal sound.
  2. Microphone Connection: Connect your chosen microphone (boom or button) to the main unit.
  3. Cable Management: Route all cables neatly within the helmet lining to avoid discomfort or interference.

5. Operating Instructions

The XGP X1 features intuitive controls for easy operation while riding.

5.1 Power On/Off:

  • Power On: Press and hold the main button (XGP logo) for approximately 3 seconds until you hear an audible prompt.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the main button for approximately 5 seconds until you hear an audible prompt.

5.2 Bluetooth Pairing:

  1. Ensure the X1 headset is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the main button for approximately 5-7 seconds until the LED indicator flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "XGP-X1" from the list to connect. Once connected, the LED will flash blue slowly.

The X1 supports simultaneous connection to two mobile phones or Bluetooth devices for enhanced convenience.

5.4 Phone Calls:

  • Automatic Call Answering: The X1 will automatically answer incoming calls after a few rings, allowing you to keep your hands on the handlebars. You can also set up manual answering if preferred.
  • Answer/End Call: Short press the main button.
  • Reject Call: Long press the main button.

5.5 Music Playback:

  • Play/Pause: Short press the main button.
  • Next Track: Double press the forward button.
  • Previous Track: Double press the backward button.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Charging:

The X1 is equipped with an 800mAH Polymer-LiBattery. Use the provided USB-C cable to charge the device. A full charge takes approximately 1.5-2 hours and provides up to 50 hours of music time or 60 hours of talk time.

6.2 Waterproofing:

The X1 has an IP67 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against dust and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This ensures reliable performance in rain or shine.

6.3 Cleaning:

Wipe the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all ports are dry before charging.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source using the USB-C cable and try again after a few minutes.
  • Cannot pair with phone: Make sure the X1 is in pairing mode (flashing red and blue). Turn off and on your phone's Bluetooth. Clear previous Bluetooth connections on your phone if necessary.
  • Poor sound quality or excessive noise: Check that the speakers are correctly positioned over your ears and the microphone is close to your mouth. The X1 features DSP/CVC noise reduction technology to filter environmental noise.

    • Speaker Positioning: Take time to adjust the speaker pads and position the speakers directly over your ears for the best audio experience and to maximize the effect of noise reduction.
    • Battery Management: While the X1 offers long battery life, it's good practice to fully charge it before long rides to ensure uninterrupted use.
    • Not an Intercom: Remember that the X1 is a personal helmet Bluetooth headset and does not support direct intercom communication with other riders.
