4.2 Wiring Diagram
Connect the GRV8-SV according to the following diagram. Ensure all connections are tight (tightening torque: 0.4Nm) and use appropriate cable sizes (solid wire max. 1x2.5mm² or 2x1.5mm²; with sleeve max. 1x2.5mm² (AWG 12)).
Figure 4: GRV8-SV Wiring Diagram and Technical Parameters
Wiring Instructions:
- Connect the AC/DC 110V~240V power supply to terminals A1(+) and A2(-).
- Connect the monitored line (L and N) to the appropriate terminals as shown in the diagram for voltage sensing.
- Connect the load (KM - Contactor Coil) to the output contacts. For example, use 11 and 14 for Normally Open (NO) control, or 11 and 12 for Normally Closed (NC) control. Similarly for the second contact (21, 22, 24).
5. Operation
5.1 Initial Power-Up
Once wired, apply power to the A1-A2 terminals. The LCD will illuminate and display the current voltage. The relay will undergo a power-up delay before entering normal operation.
5.2 Parameter Setting
To adjust the protection parameters, use the MD, Up (▲), and Down (▼) buttons. Refer to the table below for parameter ranges and factory settings.
| Parameter | Range | Step Value | Factory Settings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Over voltage value | 65V-300V, OFF | 1V | 253V |
| Over voltage recovery value | 60V-295V | 1V | 248V |
| Under voltage value | OFF, 65V-300V | 1V | 187V |
| Under voltage recovery value | 70V-305V | 1V | 192V |
| Voltage fault action time | 0.1s-20s | 0.1s | 2s |
| Power on delay time | 0.5s-300s | 0.1s | 0.5s |
| Reset time | 0.5s-300s | 0.1s | 1s |
| Fault reset | ON-OFF | — | ON |
5.3 Operation Description
The relay continuously monitors the input voltage. If the voltage deviates from the set overvoltage or undervoltage thresholds for the configured action delay time, the output relays will trip to protect the connected equipment.
Testing Relay Action: A short press (0.5s) of the R/T button can test the relay action. This function is only available when the power supply is normal.
Figure 5: Functions Diagram (Timing for Over/Undervoltage Protection)
The diagram illustrates the timing sequences for various events:
- To: Overvoltage tripping delay.
- Tu: Undervoltage tripping delay.
- Tr: Reset delay.
- Tp: Power up delay.
6. Maintenance
The GRV8-SV voltage relay is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. However, periodic checks are recommended:
- Ensure all wiring connections remain secure and free from corrosion.
- Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris.
- Periodically verify the functionality of the relay using the test button.
7. Troubleshooting
If the device is not functioning as expected, consider the following:
- No display/No power: Check the power supply to A1-A2 terminals. Ensure connections are correct and secure.
- Relay not tripping: Verify the set overvoltage/undervoltage thresholds and delay times. Ensure they are appropriate for the monitored voltage. Check the wiring to the load.
- Relay tripping unexpectedly: Check for unstable power supply or transient voltage fluctuations. Adjust delay times if necessary to avoid nuisance tripping.
- Incorrect voltage reading: Ensure the input voltage is within the specified operating range.
