5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the original 12V power cable is correctly connected and receiving power. The Type-C port is not for power.
  • CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting: Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the monitor. Ensure your phone's OS version is supported (iOS 10+ for CarPlay, Android 11+ for Android Auto). Huawei phones are not supported for Android Auto.
  • No sound from helmet/earphone: Confirm your phone is paired to the monitor, and the monitor is paired to your helmet/earphone via Bluetooth.
  • Date/Time incorrect after reset: The device does not have a built-in power module for time retention. Once CarPlay/Android Auto is connected, the time will synchronize from your iPhone.
  • Touch screen unresponsive with gloves: The screen does not support touch operation while wearing gloves, as it affects sensitivity.
  • Cannot download apps: The device runs on Linux OS and does not support downloading or installing APK files. The WiFi function is for connectivity and data transfer with your phone only.

7. User Tips

  • Power Source: Always use the provided original 12V power cable for stable operation. Avoid using the Type-C port for power, as it may lead to restarts due to insufficient voltage.
  • GPS Functionality: Remember that the monitor itself does not contain a GPS app. Utilize your smartphone's navigation apps through Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto for directions.
  • Camera Options: If you require camera recording capabilities, ensure you select a 7-inch model (MT-12 or MT-10), as the 5-inch MT-00 model does not include cameras.
  • Bluetooth Audio: For audio output (music, navigation, calls), connect your helmet or Bluetooth earphones to your smartphone after the phone is paired with the monitor. The monitor acts as a bridge for audio.
  • Time Synchronization: If the device resets, the date and time may not be accurate. Connecting to CarPlay will automatically synchronize the time from your iPhone.
  • Glove Use: The touch screen is not designed for use with gloves, which can impair touch sensitivity. Consider using the optional remote control for the 7-inch 2K-GPS model if you frequently wear gloves.
  • No App Downloads: The Linux operating system does not support downloading or installing third-party applications (APKs). The WiFi function is solely for connecting CarPlay/Android Auto and data transfer.
