1. Introduction
The ANENG M108 and M107 are compact, auto-ranging digital multimeters designed for measuring various electrical parameters. These devices feature a 4000-count LCD display and are powered by AAA batteries, making them suitable for both professional and DIY electrical tasks. The M108 model includes additional features such as Diode and Capacitance measurement, which are not present in the M107.
2. Package Contents
Upon opening the package, please ensure all items are present and in good condition:
- 1 x ANENG M107/M108 Digital Multimeter
- 1 x User Manual
- 1 x Pair of Test Leads
3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the multimeter.
- Use a screwdriver to open the battery cover.
- Insert two (2) AAA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery cover and secure it with the screw.
3.2. Test Lead Connection
- Insert the red test lead into the 'VΩHz' or '2A' socket (depending on measurement).
- Insert the black test lead into the 'COM' socket.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. General Operation
The multimeter features an auto-ranging function, simplifying measurements by automatically selecting the appropriate range. It also includes a smart anti-burn design for enhanced safety.
4.2. Button Functions
- SET Button: Short press to manually select the function. Long press for 2 seconds to exit 'AUTO' mode.
- NCV Button: Long press to enter NCV mode.
- H/☀ Button: Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn on the flashlight and backlight screen. Short press to keep the current data (Data Hold).
- Power Button: Press and hold for 2 seconds to power on. Short press to power off.
4.3. Measurement Modes
The multimeter supports various measurement types:
- AC/DC Voltage Measurement: Connect test leads to the circuit in parallel.
- AC/DC Current Measurement: Connect the multimeter in series with the circuit. WARNING: Do NOT directly contact with measuring current like measuring voltage. Direct contact will burn out the instrument!
- Resistance Measurement: Connect test leads across the component. If resistance is less than 50Ω, a buzzer will sound.
- Capacitance Measurement (M108 only): Remember to discharge capacitors before measurement.
- Diode Measurement (M108 only): Ensure correct polarity when measuring diodes.
- Continuity/Buzzer Measurement: A beep indicates continuity. No beep indicates an open circuit or damaged line.
- Hz Measurement: For frequency measurement.
- NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) Induction: Long press the NCV button. Place the front end test point near an AC voltage source; an alarm buzzer will sound. The stronger the voltage, the faster the beeping sound.
- Flashlight & Backlight: Long press the H/☀ button to activate in dark environments.
5. Maintenance
- Keep the multimeter clean and dry. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning; do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- Regularly inspect test leads for any signs of damage or wear. Replace immediately if damaged.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Display/Power: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Incorrect Readings: Verify test lead connections. Ensure the correct measurement mode is selected. For capacitance, ensure the component is discharged.
- No Buzzer Sound (Continuity): Check if the circuit is open or the line is damaged.
- NCV Not Detecting: Ensure the NCV button is long-pressed to activate the mode.

8. User Tips
- Always ensure the multimeter is set to the correct function before making a measurement to avoid damage to the device or circuit.
- For current measurements, always connect the multimeter in series with the load. Never connect it in parallel across a voltage source when measuring current.
- When measuring resistance or continuity, ensure the circuit is de-energized to prevent inaccurate readings or damage.
- Utilize the built-in test pen card slot for convenient storage of test leads when not in use.
- The retractable back bracket allows for easy viewing of the display during measurements.
