The FENGLINGDU F98 is a high-performance mechanical keyboard designed for gaming and productivity. Initial Charging
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the keyboard's Type-C port and the other end to a powered USB port on your computer or a USB wall adapter. The keyboard has a built-in 4000mAh high-capacity battery.

Connecting the Keyboard
The F98 keyboard supports three connection modes:

- Wired Mode (Type-C):
Connect the USB Type-C cable directly from the keyboard to your computer. The keyboard will be recognized automatically. This mode also charges the keyboard. - 2.4G Wireless Mode:
Plug the 2.4G wireless receiver into an available USB port on your computer. Switch the keyboard to 2.4G mode (usually via a switch on the keyboard, refer to specific model for exact location). The keyboard should connect automatically. - Bluetooth Mode:
Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode. On your device (computer, tablet, phone), search for Bluetooth devices and select 'FENGLINGDU F98' (or similar name) to pair. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

Key Layout and Functions
The F98 features a 98-key layout, which is a compact design that retains most essential keys while saving desktop space compared to a full-size 104-key keyboard.

RGB Backlighting
The keyboard features 16 million colors RGB backlighting with 18 different lighting effects. Use the FN + \ key combination to cycle through the various lighting modes.

Multi-function Metal Knob
The F98 is equipped with a multi-function metal knob, typically located in the top right corner. This knob can be used to control various functions such as:
- Adjusting volume
- Changing backlight brightness
- Switching lighting effects

Hot-Swappable Switches
The F98 supports full key hot-swappable switches, allowing you to easily change switches without soldering. It is compatible with both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. Use the provided keycap and switch puller for safe removal and installation.

VIA Software Customization
The F98 keyboard supports key modification and macro programming using VIA software. This functionality is available in wired and 2.4G wireless modes. To use VIA, you will need to download the appropriate JSON file for your F98 model and import it into the VIA software. VIA supports both MacOS and Windows operating systems.

Maintenance
Cleaning
- Keycaps: Use a keycap puller to remove keycaps. Clean them with a mild soap solution and a soft cloth, then rinse and dry thoroughly before reattaching.
- Keyboard Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the keyboard. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no moisture enters the keyboard.
- Switches: Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from around the switches.
Battery Care
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Do not expose the keyboard to extreme temperatures.
- Avoid using unofficial or fast chargers, as this may damage the battery.
Troubleshooting
Connectivity Issues
- 2.4G Wireless/Bluetooth Disconnection: Ensure the keyboard is in the correct mode (2.4G or Bluetooth). Re-pair Bluetooth devices if necessary. Ensure the 2.4G receiver is securely plugged in.
- Lag/Delay in Wireless Mode: Ensure the keyboard is fully charged. Move the keyboard closer to the receiver/device to reduce interference.
RGB Backlight Not Working
- Check if the keyboard is sufficiently charged.
- Ensure RGB is enabled and not set to a very low brightness level using the knob or FN key combinations.
Keys Not Responding
- For hot-swappable switches, ensure the switch is fully seated in its socket. Gently press down on the switch to ensure proper contact.
- If using wired mode, try a different USB port or cable.
