5. Setup and Installation

The EM176-TTLOCK is designed for simple, 2-step positioning installation.

  1. Prepare the Installation Position:
    Identify the desired location for the lock on your cabinet or drawer. Mark and drill the necessary screw holes for both the keypad and the lock body. Ensure proper alignment for the ribbon cable and the latch mechanism.
  2. Wiring and Secure Installation:
    Connect the touch panel keypad to the lock cylinder (main unit) using the provided ribbon cable. Route the power cord through the designated hole. Install the 4 AAA alkaline batteries into the lock body. Position the lock body and keypad, then secure them firmly with the provided screws.

6. Operating Instructions

Unlocking Methods

  • Password Unlocking: Enter your programmed password on the backlit touch buttons and confirm to unlock. The backlit buttons ensure visibility in the dark.
  • Fingerprint Unlocking: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor to unlock.
  • IC Card Unlocking: Swipe a registered 13.56MHz IC card (e.g., silicone bracelet card, keychain card, RFID card) over the designated sensor area to unlock.
  • App Unlocking (Bluetooth): Use the TTLock mobile application on your smartphone to unlock the cabinet via Bluetooth connection.
  • Remote Control Unlocking (Optional): If a remote control module is installed, use the remote to unlock.

TTLock App Management

The TTLock app provides comprehensive control over your smart lock:

  • User Management: Add, delete, and modify user passwords, fingerprints, and IC cards.
  • Remote Authorization: Grant permanent access to family members or temporary access to others (e.g., colleagues) with one-click app settings.

Home Fixed Door Lock Mode

This mode allows for specific password configurations:

  • Up to 1 set of management passwords can be configured.
  • Supports 250 groups of user passwords (numbered 001-200).

7. Emergency Power

In case the batteries run low and you cannot unlock the cabinet, the EM176-TTLOCK features a Type-C emergency interface. Simply connect an external mobile power supply (power bank) to this interface to provide temporary power and unlock the cabinet.

8. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: The lock uses 4 AAA alkaline batteries. When the low voltage alarm (4.8V) sounds, replace all four batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. The lock is designed for approximately 365 days of battery life.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the keypad and lock body. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface or electronic components.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the TTLock app for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Lock not responding: Check battery levels. If low, use the Type-C emergency power interface with an external power bank.
  • Fingerprint/Card/Password not recognized: Ensure the fingerprint is clean and placed correctly on the sensor. Re-register the fingerprint, IC card, or password via the TTLock app if issues persist.
  • App connectivity issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the lock is within range. Restart the app or your phone if necessary.
  • Lock mechanism stuck: Do not force the lock. Check for any obstructions in the latch area.

10. User Tips

  • Regular Battery Checks: Although the lock has a long battery life, it's good practice to check battery levels periodically through the TTLock app, especially if the lock is used frequently.
  • Emergency Power Preparedness: Always keep a charged power bank and a Type-C cable accessible in case of a low battery emergency.
  • Multiple Access Methods: Register multiple fingerprints or IC cards for different users, and keep a backup password or IC card in a secure location.
  • App Updates: Keep your TTLock app updated to the latest version to benefit from new features, improvements, and security patches.
