4. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your STEAMEMO Cloud-managed POE Switch:
- Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the switch and then to a suitable power outlet. The PWR indicator on the switch should light up.
- Network Uplink: Connect a standard Ethernet cable from your router or main network to one of the Uplink ports (LAN1, LAN2, or SFP) on the switch.
- PoE Device Connection: For PoE-enabled devices such as IP cameras, network bridges, or PoE phones, connect them directly to the numbered POE Ports (e.g., 1-8) using standard Ethernet cables. These ports will supply both data and power.
- Non-PoE Device Connection: For non-PoE devices like a standard PC or NVR, connect them to the Uplink ports or dedicated LAN ports if available, ensuring they receive data only. If connecting a non-PoE device to a PoE port, ensure the device does not require PoE power or use a PoE splitter if necessary.
- SFP Module (if applicable): If your model includes an SFP port, you can insert a compatible SFP module for fiber optic connections to extend your network range.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. APP Cloud Management
The STEAMEMO POE Switch supports cloud management via a dedicated mobile application. This allows you to monitor and control your network devices remotely.
- Download the App: Scan the QR codes provided in the product packaging or on the device itself to download the official STEAMEMO app for Android or iOS.
- Device Registration: Follow the in-app instructions to register your switch and link it to your account.
- Remote Monitoring: View real-time status of all connected ports, including power consumption (W), data transmission (KB), and link status (online/offline). The app provides alerts for connectivity problems.

5.2. Port Independent Control (PoE On/Off)
Through the mobile app, you can individually control the power supply to each PoE port. This feature allows for remote restarting of connected PoE devices or disabling power to specific ports as needed.
- Navigate to the 'Device Details' section in the app.
- Select the 'Setting' tab for port controls.
- Toggle the switch next to each PoE port to turn its power on or off.
- An option to 'Reboot' individual ports may also be available.

5.3. 250M Extend Mode
For extending the reach of your PoE devices, the switch offers a 250M Extend mode. This feature allows PoE devices to be placed further away from the switch than the standard 100-meter Ethernet limit, typically at a reduced speed.
- Access the 'Setting' tab for port controls in the mobile app.
- Look for an 'Extend' option for the desired port.
- Activate the 'Extend' mode for specific ports to enable longer cable runs for devices like IP cameras.

5.4. VLAN Mode (Port Isolation)
The VLAN mode, or Port Isolation Function, enhances network security and performance by isolating traffic between specific ports. Ports configured for VLAN isolation can communicate with Uplink ports but not directly with each other.
- Consult the detailed user manual (if a separate PDF is available) or the app's advanced settings for VLAN configuration.
- Typically, ports 1-8 are isolated from each other, preventing direct communication, while still allowing them to access the main network via Uplink ports.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the switch. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Ventilation: Ensure the switch is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.
- Cable Management: Keep network cables organized and free from kinks or excessive bends to ensure optimal performance.
- Lightning Protection: The switch features 4KV lightning protection, but it is still recommended to disconnect the device during severe thunderstorms to prevent potential damage.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the STEAMEMO app or official website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your STEAMEMO POE Switch, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Power:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the switch and a working power outlet.
- Verify the power outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
- No Network Connectivity:
- Check all Ethernet cable connections between the switch, router, and connected devices.
- Ensure the Uplink port is correctly connected to your main network.
- Verify that the connected devices are powered on and functioning correctly.
- If using the 250M Extend mode, ensure it is enabled for the specific port and that the connected device supports it.
- PoE Device Not Receiving Power:
- Confirm the connected device is PoE-compatible (802.3af/at standard).
- Check the PoE port status via the mobile app; ensure PoE is enabled for that port.
- Try connecting the PoE device to a different PoE port.
- Ensure the total power budget of the switch is not exceeded by all connected PoE devices.
- Slow Network Speed:
- Check for excessive network traffic or bandwidth-intensive applications.
- Ensure all cables are in good condition and properly seated.
- If using 250M Extend mode, note that it may operate at a lower speed.
- Consider enabling VLAN (Port Isolation) to reduce broadcast storms and improve performance for specific segments.
- App Connectivity Issues:
- Ensure your mobile device has an active internet connection.
- Verify the switch is connected to the internet and its cloud management service is active.
- Restart the app or reinstall it if problems persist.
The switch features 'Intelligent Troubleshooting' capabilities, which can be accessed via the mobile app to diagnose and resolve common network issues.
8. User Tips
- For optimal performance, always use high-quality Ethernet cables (Cat5e or Cat6) for all connections.
- Regularly check the status of your ports and connected devices using the mobile app to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Utilize the VLAN feature to segment your network, especially in environments with multiple IP cameras or different user groups, to enhance security and network efficiency.
