1. Introduction

The LAUNCH Creader Professional CRP123E/CRP123I V3.0 is an advanced smart solution for passenger car diagnosis. It incorporates LAUNCH's sophisticated diagnostic technology, offering extensive vehicle coverage, powerful functions, and precise test results. This professional-grade automotive scanner is suitable for both professional technicians and personal car owners for in-depth inspection of engine, transmission, ABS, and airbag (SRS) systems.

3. Setup and Initial Use

  1. Power On: Connect the OBD II diagnostic cable to the device's DB15 port and then to your vehicle's OBDII port. The device will power on automatically.
  2. Initial Configuration: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your preferred language (English, French, Spanish, German, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Polish, Traditional Chinese).
  3. Wi-Fi Connection: Connect the device to a stable Wi-Fi network to enable software updates and online features.
  4. VIN Scan: The device supports automatic Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) recognition. Once connected to the vehicle, it will attempt to identify the vehicle's brand, model, and year. If Auto VIN Scan fails, you may manually enter the VIN.
  5. System Detection: After VIN identification, the device will prompt you to start a vehicle system detection. Confirm to proceed with scanning the vehicle's systems.

4. Operation

4.1. 4 Main System Diagnostics (Lifetime Free)

The CRP123E/CRP123I V3.0 provides in-depth diagnostic capabilities for the following four core vehicle systems:

  • Engine System Diagnosis: Read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), view live data streams to pinpoint engine problems, turn off warning lights, and ensure optimal engine performance.
  • ABS System Diagnosis: Access the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to view live data streams and retrieve fault codes. This helps in troubleshooting ABS issues, visually inspecting brake components, and turning off the ABS warning light.
  • SRS (Airbag) System Diagnosis: Detect electronic parameters within the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) to check their health status. This tool helps address potential SRS issues to enhance driving safety and turn off the airbag warning light.
  • Transmission System Diagnosis: Examine the Transmission system by reading codes and viewing live data to identify problems and turn off warning lights, ensuring proper power delivery to the wheels.

4.2. 7 Hot Maintenance Services (Lifetime Free)

  • Read Vehicle Information: Displays information such as VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), CID (Calibration ID), and CVN (Calibration Verification Number).
  • Component Test: Actuates certain vehicle components via commands from the scanner to test their operability.

4.4. Quick VIN Identification

The Automatic Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) technology streamlines the diagnostic process by automatically identifying the vehicle's brand, model, and year. Once the VIN is successfully obtained, the system proceeds to scan vehicle systems and automatically generates a diagnostic report, which can be sent to your email.

Note: For vehicles that do not support the Auto VIN Scan function, you can manually enter the vehicle VIN.

4.5. Live Data Stream Analysis

The CRP123E/CRP123I displays live sensor data and provides graphical data plotting for intuitive diagnostics. This feature helps users monitor vehicle performance and analyze abnormal parameters more effectively.

4.6. Battery Voltage Monitoring

The device can detect and display the vehicle's battery voltage status in real-time, helping to identify and address potential battery issues before they become critical. The display provides clear indications for voltage levels, such as <12V (needs charge or replace), 12.4V-12.8V (normal before starting), 13.4-14.8V (normal after starting), and >14.8V (battery may be damaged).

7. User Tips

  • Compatibility for Reset Functions: Always ensure to check vehicle compatibility for specific reset functions, especially for DPF and Brake resets, as not all models support all functions. If unsure, consult the seller or refer to the detailed vehicle compatibility list.
  • FCA AutoAuth: For FCA vehicles (Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, etc. after 2017) equipped with a security gateway module (SGW), AutoAuth functionality is available for diagnosis and active testing. Be aware that this feature may require an extra payment.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device Does Not Power On: Ensure the OBDII diagnostic cable is securely connected to both the device's DB15 port and the vehicle's OBDII port. Verify that the vehicle's battery has sufficient charge.
  • VIN Scan Fails: If the automatic VIN scan does not detect your vehicle's information, manually enter the VIN as prompted by the device.
  • Software Update Issues: Check your Wi-Fi connection for stability and signal strength. Ensure there is sufficient storage space on the device for the update.
  • Device Freezes/Slow Performance: Restart the device. If the issue persists, ensure the software is up to date.
