  2. Internet Connection (WAN):
    • For a single internet connection, connect your modem or internet service provider's cable to the WAN1 port.
    • For multiple internet connections (Multi-WAN), connect additional modems/cables to the interchangeable WAN/LAN ports (WAN2/LAN4, WAN3/LAN3, WAN4/LAN2) as configured.
  3. Local Network Connection (LAN):
    • Connect your local network devices (computers, switches, etc.) to the LAN1 port or any of the interchangeable WAN/LAN ports configured as LAN.
    • For PoE-supported devices (e.g., Tenda APs, IP cameras), connect them to the dedicated PoE+ ports. The router will automatically provide power.
  4. Initial Configuration:
    • Connect a computer to a LAN port.
    • Open a web browser and navigate to the router's default IP address (usually printed on a label on the device or in the Quick Installation Guide).
    • Log in with the default username and password (also typically found on the device label or guide).

PoE Functionality

The dedicated PoE+ ports automatically detect and provide power to compatible Power over Ethernet devices. Ensure that connected devices comply with the 802.3af/at PoE standards and do not exceed 30W per port.

7. Maintenance

  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the Tenda official website for the latest firmware updates to ensure optimal performance, security, and access to new features.
  • Cleaning: Keep the router clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the router is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block the ventilation holes.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the device within the specified temperature range of -10℃ to 45°C. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Resetting to Factory Defaults: If the device is not functioning correctly or you forget the login credentials, you can press and hold the Reset button on the rear panel for approximately 5-10 seconds while the device is powered on. This will restore all settings to their factory defaults.

8. Troubleshooting

No Internet Access

  • Check if the WAN cable is securely connected to the correct port and if the modem is working correctly.
  • Verify your WAN settings in the router's web interface.
  • Restart the modem and then the router.
  • If using Multi-WAN, check the status of each WAN connection.

PoE Device Not Powering On

  • Ensure the PoE device is connected to one of the dedicated PoE+ ports.
  • Verify that the PoE device is compatible with 802.3af/at standards.
  • Check the power consumption of the PoE device; it should not exceed 30W per port.
  • Try connecting the PoE device to a different PoE+ port.

Slow Network Speed

  • Check your internet service provider's speed.
  • Ensure all cables are Gigabit Ethernet compatible (Cat5e or Cat6).
  • Monitor network traffic using the Tenda WiFi APP or web interface to identify bandwidth-intensive applications or devices.
  • Review bandwidth control settings if configured.
  • Consider the recommended client capacity (100 devices) for optimal performance.

Cannot Access Router Management Interface

  • Ensure your computer is connected to a LAN port of the router.
  • Verify your computer's IP address is in the same subnet as the router or set to obtain IP automatically.
  • Try clearing your browser's cache or using a different browser.
  • If you forgot the password, perform a factory reset (see Maintenance section).
