8. Troubleshooting
8.1 Failed First Connection
If you encounter issues during the initial connection:
- Review the connection prerequisites in Section 4.1.
- Ensure your phone's app permissions are correctly set.
- Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4Ghz WiFi network, and the camera is within close proximity to the router.
- Verify the WiFi password entered is correct.
- Refer to the operation video (see Section 10 for link) or contact customer support.
8.2 Camera Offline After Router Change
If you change your router or WiFi network, the camera will lose its connection:
- Delete the camera from the CAM720 app.
- Move the camera close to the new router.
- Power cycle and reset the camera (long-press reset button).
- Add the camera again to the app following the WiFi connection steps in Section 4.3.
8.3 Recording Issues (SD Card)
If the camera stops recording to the SD card:
- Check the status of the SD card within the CAM720 app settings.
- Verify the recording setup (e.g., 24/7, motion-triggered, scheduled) is correctly configured.
- Try using a different, compatible SD card to test if the original card is faulty.
- Ensure the SD card is properly inserted into the slot.
8.4 Camera Frequently Offline
If your camera frequently goes offline:
- Check the power adapter and the power outlet for stable power supply.
- Verify your router's WiFi signal strength in the camera's location. Weak signals can cause disconnections.
- Ensure your home network is functioning normally.
- If problems persist, reconfigure the camera or contact support.
9. User Tips
- Optimal WiFi Signal: Always ensure the camera is installed in an area with a strong 2.4Ghz WiFi signal. Avoid locations where the signal might be obstructed or weak.
- Initial Setup Proximity: For the smoothest initial setup, keep the camera and your WiFi router close to each other.
- App Permissions: Double-check that the CAM720 app has all necessary permissions, especially location services, to avoid connection issues.
- Router Password Length: Keep your WiFi password concise (under 16 characters) to prevent potential connection problems.
