Figure 5.1: Doorbell charging and battery information.
Warning: If the doorbell experiences an excessive number of events (e.g., frequent visitors, motion detections), you might need to charge it more frequently than the estimated 3-month usage.
5.2 Installing the Doorbell
Follow these steps to physically install your doorbell:
- Mark Drill Holes: Hold the doorbell mounting plate against the wall at your desired installation height. Use a pencil to mark the positions for the drill holes.
- Drill Holes: Use an appropriate drill bit to drill holes at the marked positions.
- Insert Anchors: Insert the provided wall anchors into the drilled holes.
- Secure Doorbell: Align the doorbell with the anchors and secure it to the wall using the mounting screws. Finally, use the security screw to firmly attach the doorbell.

Important Note: It is not recommended to install the doorbell on an iron door, as this may affect the wireless signal strength.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Battery Life and Charging
The doorbell is powered by an 800mAh lithium battery, offering approximately 3 months of use on a single charge, with a standby time of up to 365 days. Charging takes about 1.5 hours. The Kement App will provide low battery reminders, prompting you to charge the device in a timely manner.
Note: Frequent activity (motion detection, live view, intercom use) will consume battery faster, requiring more frequent charging.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1 How to Reset the Doorbell
If you need to reset your doorbell, follow these steps:
- First, delete the current device from your Kement App.
- Press and hold the Doorbell Button on the device for approximately 8 seconds until the BLUE LED light flashes.
- In the Kement App, tap the "+" icon to add the device again and follow the pairing instructions.
8.2 Device Offline
If your doorbell appears offline in the Kement App, there are two common reasons:
- Run out of power: Push the doorbell button. If there is no light, the battery may be depleted. Please charge the doorbell.
- Weak Wi-Fi connection: The device works exclusively with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Ensure your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network is stable. If the signal is weak, consider repositioning your wireless router or using a Wi-Fi extender/repeater to improve signal strength, especially since the doorbell is typically installed outdoors.
8.3 Poor Wi-Fi Signal
A poor Wi-Fi signal can be caused by the doorbell being too far from your wireless router or by physical obstructions (walls, metal objects) between the doorbell and the router. Try moving your router closer or installing a Wi-Fi signal extender/repeater.
8.4 Enabling Notifications on Your Phone
To ensure you receive alerts from your doorbell, check both the Kement App settings and your phone's mobile settings:
- In Kement App: On the Device page, tap the Settings icon. You will find a "Ring Alert" option, which you can toggle on or off.
- In Mobile Settings: Go to your phone's main settings, find "App Management" or "Notification Settings," and locate the Kement App. Ensure all necessary authorizations and notifications are enabled for the Kement App.
8.5 Kement App Compatibility
The doorbell is designed to work with the Kement App. It is not compatible with other smart home platforms like Smart Life or Tuya.
9. User Tips
- Optimal Wi-Fi: Always ensure your doorbell is connected to a strong and stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for reliable performance. Avoid 5GHz networks as they are not supported.
- Regular Charging: Pay attention to low battery reminders from the Kement App. Timely charging ensures continuous operation and security monitoring.
- Family Access: Utilize the family sharing feature to allow trusted family members to monitor the doorbell, enhancing overall home security. Remember that only one user can use the intercom at a time.
- Privacy: Use the voice changer intercom feature for added privacy, especially when children are interacting with visitors.
- Installation Location: Avoid installing the doorbell on metal surfaces like iron doors, as this can significantly degrade Wi-Fi signal strength and range.
