2. Setup Guide

2.1 App Installation

The JOOAN A6M camera uses the cam720 application for remote control and monitoring. Download the app from your device's app store:

  • For Android devices: Search for "cam720" on Google Play.
  • For iOS devices: Search for "cam720" on the App Store.

2.2 Account Registration and Login

  1. Open the cam720 app.
  2. Tap on 'Create an account' or 'Sign up'.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to register using your email or phone number.
  4. Log in to your newly created account.

2.3 Camera Connection

Ensure your camera is powered on and within 2 meters of your Wi-Fi router during the initial setup for optimal signal strength.

  1. In the cam720 app, tap 'Add a device' or the '+' icon.
  2. The app will guide you through the connection process. The camera supports both Bluetooth (BT) configuration and direct Wi-Fi connection.
  3. For Bluetooth Configuration: The device connects via BT first, then transitions to Wi-Fi.
  4. For Wi-Fi Connection: Select your 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  5. For Network Cable Connection (Optional): If your camera model supports it, you can connect the camera directly to your router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable.
  6. Follow the voice prompts from the camera and the app instructions to complete the pairing.

2.4 Mounting Options

The JOOAN A6M camera is lightweight and easy to install, offering multiple placement options:

  • Freestanding: Place the camera on a flat surface like a table or shelf.
  • Wall Mount: Secure the camera to a wall using the provided mounting hardware.
  • Ceiling Mount: Attach the camera to the ceiling for an overhead view.

For optimal performance, install the camera at a height of approximately 1.2-1.4 meters (H = 1.2-1.4m).

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Live View and 4-in-1 Display

Access real-time video streams from your camera 24/7 through the cam720 app. The app supports a 4-in-1 view, allowing you to monitor multiple camera feeds simultaneously if you have more than one camera.

3.2 Two-Way Audio

The camera features real-time two-way audio, allowing you to communicate with people or pets on the camera's side directly through the cam720 app. This is useful for greeting visitors, deterring intruders, or checking in on family members.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Weather Resistance

4.2 Cleaning

  • To clean the camera lens, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the lens.
  • Wipe the camera body with a damp cloth as needed.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Common Issues

  • Camera Offline: Check Wi-Fi connection, power supply, and ensure the camera is within range of the router. Try restarting the camera and router.
  • Poor Video Quality: Ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection. Clean the camera lens if it appears smudged.
  • Motion Detection Not Working: Verify motion detection settings in the cam720 app. Ensure the camera's field of view is clear.
  • Two-Way Audio Issues: Check microphone and speaker settings in the app. Ensure your phone's volume is up.

5.2 Resetting the Camera

If you encounter persistent issues, you may need to reset the camera to its factory settings. Locate the reset button (usually a small pinhole) on the camera body. Use a pin or paperclip to press and hold the reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds until you hear a voice prompt indicating a reset.
