6. Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Device Offline / Cannot Connect to App:
- Check if the device is powered on and has sufficient battery.
- Ensure your router is working correctly and has not experienced a power outage or disconnection.
- The device may be too far from the router or separated by multiple walls. Move the router closer or reduce obstacles.
- If the router is overloaded, replace it with a higher-capacity one or reduce the number of connected devices.
- If you changed your WiFi/router, password, or network operator, you must remove the device from the app and re-add it.
- The device only supports 2.4GHz WiFi. Ensure your router's 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands have separate names for proper connection.
- Cannot Receive App Notifications/Alarms:
- Check message push settings in the Tuya/Smart Life App: Go to 'My' -> 'Message Center' -> 'Settings' (gear icon) -> enable relevant permissions and disable 'Do Not Disturb'.
- Check your phone's system notification settings for the app.
- Delayed Video Screen on Mobile App:
- This is often due to an unstable or slow network connection on either the device or your mobile phone. Ensure a strong WiFi signal for the doorbell and a stable mobile network for your phone.
- Device Not Recording Video:
- Ensure a TF (Micro SD) card is inserted. The video recording function is only available with a TF card.
- Verify the TF card is a high-speed card (C10 recommended) and formatted to FAT32. Insert the card while the device is off, then power on. Check settings to confirm memory size is recognized and format the card if needed.
- Motion Detection On, But No Cloud Message:
- This is a low-power product; motion detection triggers capture for a certain period. Very fast-moving objects might not be captured.
- Environmental factors like temperature and humidity can affect detection accuracy.
- Machine Does Not Turn On / No Response:
- Check the power indicator (red light indicates low voltage).
- Try powering on using the Type-C power supply (5V/1A or 5V/2A phone charger).
- Ensure the input voltage is within the operating range of 3.6V-5V.
- For built-in battery products, ensure the power switch is set to 'ON'.
- Power On Display No Image:
- Check the cable interface direction; ensure it's not reversed.
- Inspect the cable and cable holder for damage. Re-plug the outdoor camera cable to ensure good contact.
- Machine Automatically Black Screen:
- This is a power-saving feature. The screen will automatically rest after 10 seconds of inactivity to enter standby mode.
How to Reset the Device:
First, delete your current device from the app. Then, press and hold the configuration button (C) on the doorbell for approximately 8 seconds until the yellow light flashes and you hear the voice prompt "Enter the network configuration mode." Finally, use the "+" icon in the app to re-add the device.
