4. Setup Instructions
- Insert SIM Card: Open the back cover of the Mini A8 Tracker. Insert a 2G mobile phone SIM card into the designated slot. Ensure the SIM card is correctly positioned. The device will automatically power on.
- Initial Power On Indicator: When the device boots up, an indicator light will illuminate for approximately 10 seconds. After the indicator turns off, close the back cover. The device is now ready for use.
- Charging: Connect the Mini A8 Tracker to a power source using the provided USB cable. A blue light will illuminate when charging, indicating the charging process has begun.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Authorizing a Monitoring Number
Before using the tracking and listening features, you must authorize a smartphone number to communicate with the Mini A8. This is the first step to view the position or hear the sound around the device.
- Send an SMS to the Mini A8's SIM card number.
- The SMS format should be:
SQ[your authorized phone number](e.g.,SQ0812xxxxxx). - Wait for a reply SMS indicating "SetAuthorization successful". Only authorized numbers can use the monitoring features.
5.2. LBS Positioning
To obtain the location of the Mini A8 Tracker:
- Send an SMS to the Mini A8's SIM card number.
- The SMS format is:
DW(for China) orGPS(for other regions). - The alarm will reply with a message containing address information, longitude, latitude, and a website link within a minute.
- Click the provided link in the SMS to open the location on a map (e.g., Google Maps) in your browser.
5.3. Environmental Monitoring (Listening)
To listen to the sounds around the Mini A8 Tracker:
- From your authorized mobile phone, dial the SIM card number inserted in the Mini A8 Tracker.
- The Mini A8 will automatically answer the call (hook on) after a few seconds.
- You will then be able to hear the sounds within approximately 10 meters around the device.
5.4. Sound Control Dialing
This feature allows the Mini A8 to automatically call your authorized number if it detects sound above a certain decibel level.
- Activate Sound Control: Dial the SIM card number in the alarm from your authorized phone. When you hear the sound of the machine (after about 3 seconds), hang up. This sets up the sound control function.
- If there is a sound above 45 dB within 10 meters around the alarm, it will automatically call the authorized number you set.
- Deactivate Sound Control: Send
0000as an SMS to the Mini A8's SIM card number. - Reactivate Sound Control: Send
1111as an SMS to the Mini A8's SIM card number.
5.5. SOS Emergency Call
In an emergency, the Mini A8 can initiate a call to the authorized number.
- Set SOS Number: First, ensure your monitoring number is authorized (see 5.1).
- Initiate SOS: Directly press the SOS button on the device for more than three seconds. The alarm will directly call the authorized number, and the indicator light will flash.

6. User Tips
- Discreet Placement: Due to its small size, the Mini A8 can be easily concealed. Consider placing it in an area where it won't be easily discovered but still has good cellular signal reception.
- Battery Life: The device has a 500mAh battery. For continuous tracking or monitoring, ensure it is fully charged before deployment. Regular charging is recommended for prolonged use.
- LBS vs. GPS: Remember that this device relies on LBS (Location Based Service) positioning, which uses cellular tower triangulation, not satellite GPS. This means its accuracy can vary depending on cellular network density and may not be as precise as dedicated GPS trackers.
- SIM Card Compatibility: Only 2G SIM cards are supported. Ensure your chosen SIM card is active and has sufficient credit for calls and SMS.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Location Data/Inaccurate Location: This device relies on GSM/GPRS baseband station location (LBS), not satellite GPS. Location accuracy can be affected by cellular network coverage and density. It may not provide precise GPS coordinates.
- Device Not Responding: Ensure the SIM card is correctly inserted and active. Check if the device is charged. Verify that the monitoring number is authorized.
- No Sound During Environmental Monitoring: Ensure the device is within range of a cellular signal. Check the volume settings on your receiving phone. The device has two microphones (Mic 1 and Mic 2) for capturing sound.
- Network Compatibility: This Mini A8 Tracker may not be compatible with GPRS networks in certain countries, including El Salvador, Slovakia, Spain, UK, and Sri Lanka. Please check local network compatibility before purchase and use.
8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the device frequently. Charge it regularly, even if not in active use.
