- ASECAM 8MP 4K IP Camera
- Mounting Screws
- Waterproof Connector for Cable
- User Manual (this document)
- (Optional: Power Adapter if not using PoE)
2.2 Power over Ethernet (PoE) Connection
The camera supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing a single Ethernet cable to provide both power and data transmission. This simplifies wiring for DIY enthusiasts and beginners.
- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the camera's network port.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to a PoE Switch or PoE NVR.
- Ensure the PoE Switch/NVR is connected to your router via another Ethernet cable.
- If using a PoE Switch, ensure it is powered on. If using a PoE NVR, ensure it is powered on.

2.3 Non-PoE Connection (Requires 12V Power Adapter)
If your network setup does not support PoE, you will need a 12V power adapter (not included) to power the camera.
- Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the camera's network port.
- Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your router.
- Connect a 12V power adapter to the camera's power input.
- Plug the power adapter into a power outlet.

3.3 Human Body Motion Detection
The camera's AI Human Detection feature distinguishes human movement from other objects like leaves, animals, or insects, significantly reducing false alarms. This ensures you only receive relevant alerts.

3.4 Customizable Motion Detection Events
You can configure various motion detection settings to suit your surveillance needs, including:
- Human Body Detection: Focuses on human shapes.
- Line Crossing Detection: Triggers an alert when an object crosses a predefined virtual line.
- Intrusion Detection: Alerts when an object enters a specified area.
- Specific Region Detection: Monitors activity within a custom-defined zone.
When motion is detected, the NVR will save the footage, and messages will be pushed to your phone app. You can also set a motion detection "mask" to exclude areas with constant, irrelevant movement.

3.5 Night Vision
The camera provides high-quality night vision up to 100ft (30-50 meters). Infrared lights enable clear viewing in low-light conditions or complete darkness, ensuring continuous security coverage.
Image: Day Vision vs. Night Vision Comparison. Shows a scene in full color during the day and in black and white with infrared illumination at night.
3.6 Video Enhancement Features
- HDR (High Dynamic Range): Automatically adjusts picture brightness to capture important details in varying lighting conditions, from bright highlights to deep shadows.
- 3DNR (Digital Noise Reduction): Filters out noise in low-light settings and motion-induced noise, providing a cleaner, sharper image and reducing video file sizes.
Image: HDR for Overexposure Correction. Illustrates how HDR balances exposure in scenes with both bright and dark areas.
Image: DNR for Video Noise Reduction. Shows a noisy image being cleaned up by DNR technology.
3.7 Video Compression
The camera utilizes advanced H.265 video compression, which offers better image quality at a lower bit rate compared to H.264. This reduces file sizes by 40-50%, saving storage space on your NVR or other recording devices.
Image: 8MP 4K Resolution Comparison. Shows the difference in detail between 1080P, 4MP, and 8MP 4K resolutions.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- Regularly clean the camera lens with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear image quality.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the lens or housing.
4.2 Environmental Protection
The ASECAM IP Camera is designed for durability:
- IP67 Waterproof: The camera is protected against dust and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It is suitable for outdoor use in various weather conditions, including rain and snow.
- IK10 Vandal-Proof: The camera's robust metal housing provides protection against significant impact, making it resistant to vandalism and accidental damage.

5. Troubleshooting
- No Image/Video Feed:
- Check all cable connections (Ethernet, power).
- Ensure the camera is receiving power (if not PoE, check 12V adapter).
- Verify network connectivity to the camera and your viewing device.
- Restart the camera and your router/NVR.
- AI Features (Face Detection, Human Detection) Not Working:
- Ensure you are using a compatible ASECAM NVR for full AI functionality.
- Check the settings in the XMEye Pro app or VMS software to ensure AI features are enabled and configured correctly.
- Frequent False Alarms:
- Adjust the motion detection sensitivity settings in the app/software.
- Utilize the motion detection "mask" feature to exclude areas with irrelevant movement (e.g., swaying trees, busy roads).
- Poor Night Vision Quality:
- Ensure the camera lens is clean.
- Check for any obstructions blocking the infrared lights.
- Verify that there are no strong light sources directly facing the camera at night, which can cause overexposure.

8. User Tips
- NVR Compatibility: For 24/7 recording and advanced AI features like face detection, it is highly recommended to use the camera with a compatible ASECAM NVR. Other NVR brands may not fully support all AI functionalities.
- App for Remote Access: The primary mobile application for this camera is "XMEye Pro". Ensure you download the correct app from your device's app store for seamless remote viewing.
- Camera Type: This is a dome-style IP camera. While it offers a wide viewing angle (130°), it is not a 360-degree pan/tilt camera. Position it carefully to cover your desired surveillance area.
- Power Supply: If you are not using a PoE setup, remember to purchase a separate 12V2A power adapter as it is not included with the camera.
