Figure 6: Infrared Temperature Test
4.3.3 DC/AC Voltage Measurement
To measure voltage, connect the test leads to the COM and INPUT terminals.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the INPUT terminal.
- Select the appropriate voltage mode (DC or AC) using the SEL/AUTO button.
- Touch the test probes to the points where you want to measure voltage.
- The display will show the voltage reading.

Figure 7: Voltage Measurement Examples
4.3.4 Resistance, Capacitance, Diode, and Continuity Measurement
These functions also use the test leads connected to COM and INPUT.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM terminal and the red test lead to the INPUT terminal.
- Use the SEL/AUTO button to select the desired mode (Resistance, Capacitance, Diode, or Continuity).
- Resistance: Touch the probes to the component.
- Capacitance: Ensure the capacitor is discharged, then touch the probes to its terminals.
- Diode: Touch the probes to the diode terminals.
- Continuity: Touch the probes to the circuit points. A beeper will sound if resistance is less than 30Ω.

Figure 8: Component Measurement Examples
4.3.5 VFC/VFD Test
The VFC (Variable Frequency Control) function is designed to accurately measure voltage and current in circuits driven by variable frequency drives (VFDs) or other non-sinusoidal waveforms.
- Press the VFC button to activate VFC mode.
- Proceed with AC voltage or current measurement as described above. The meter will compensate for the non-sinusoidal waveform.

Figure 9: VFC Test in action
4.3.6 NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) and Live Wire Check
The NCV sensor allows for quick detection of AC voltage without direct contact.
- To use NCV, hold the top part of the meter (where the non-contact voltage sensor is located) near a live AC voltage source. The meter will indicate the presence of voltage through visual and/or audible alerts.
- For Live Wire Check, use the test leads in the appropriate mode (often indicated by 'LIVE' on the display).
5. Maintenance
5.1 General Care
- Keep the device clean and dry. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning; do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Store the meter in its carrying case when not in use to protect it from dust and physical damage.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
5.2 Battery Maintenance
- If using replaceable AA batteries, remove them if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
- For the built-in rechargeable battery, charge it regularly to maintain its lifespan, even if not in frequent use.
- The low battery indicator will alert you when the battery needs charging or replacement.
5.3 Test Lead Storage
The BSIDE U6 features a convenient design for storing test leads directly on the device, enhancing portability and preventing loss.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your BSIDE U6, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Device does not power on:
- Check if the rechargeable battery is charged. Connect the USB charging cable and allow it to charge.
- If using AA batteries, ensure they are correctly installed with the right polarity and are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Inaccurate readings:
- Ensure test leads are securely connected and not damaged.
- Verify that the correct measurement mode is selected for the task.
- For current measurements, ensure only a single conductor is within the open jaw.
- Check for environmental interference (e.g., strong magnetic fields).
- Display is dim or unreadable:
- The battery might be low. Charge the rechargeable battery or replace AA batteries.
- Ensure the screen is clean and free from smudges.
- No continuity beep:
- Ensure the continuity mode is selected.
- The resistance might be above the 30Ω threshold for the beeper to activate.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, please contact customer support for further assistance.
