  • Wi-Fi / Zigbee Connectivity: Choose between direct Wi-Fi connection (no gateway needed) or Zigbee for enhanced network stability and range (requires a Zigbee gateway).
  • Voice Control: Compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home for convenient hands-free temperature adjustments.
  • Programmable Schedules:
    • Wi-Fi Model: Weekly programmable with 3 modes (5+2 / 6+1 / 7 days), allowing 6 time periods on weekdays and 2 on weekends.
    • Zigbee Model: Daily programmable with 6 time periods for temperature setting each day.
  • Open Window Detection: Automatically turns off heating if a significant temperature drop (3°C in 5 minutes) is detected, saving energy. This function can be configured.
  • Temperature Hysteresis: Maintains temperature with a precision of ±0.5°C.
  • Child Lock: Prevents accidental changes to settings.
  • Anti-freeze Function: Protects pipes from freezing in cold conditions.

4. Installation and Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Remove the top cover of the TRV unit.
  2. Insert 3x 1.5V AA alkaline batteries (not included) into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Replace the top cover.

4.2 Mounting on Radiator

The TRV is designed for M30 x 1.5mm connections. Use the provided adapters if your radiator valve has a different size.

  1. Remove your existing thermostatic head from the radiator valve.
  2. Select the appropriate adapter if needed and attach it to the radiator valve body.
  3. Screw the Beok TRV unit onto the adapter or directly onto the M30 x 1.5mm valve body until secure.

4.3 App Connection (Wi-Fi Model)

For Wi-Fi models, no separate gateway is required. Download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app from your app store.

  1. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  2. Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app and register/log in.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. The TRV should enter pairing mode automatically after battery installation or by pressing and holding the main button for a few seconds.
  4. Once connected, you can control and program the TRV via the app.

4.4 App Connection (Zigbee Model)

For Zigbee models, a Zigbee gateway hub is required to connect to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.

  1. Ensure your Zigbee gateway hub is already set up and connected to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
  2. Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
  3. Add a new sub-device under your Zigbee gateway.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to put the TRV into pairing mode (usually by pressing and holding the main button for a few seconds).
  5. Once connected to the gateway, you can control and program the TRV via the app.

5. Operation

5.1 Display and Controls

Both Wi-Fi and Zigbee models offer programmable schedules via the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app to optimize heating based on your daily routine.

6.1 Wi-Fi Model Programming

The Wi-Fi model supports weekly programming with 6 time periods for weekdays and 2 for weekends. You can choose between 5+2, 6+1, or 7-day programming modes.

  1. Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
  2. Select your TRV device.
  3. Navigate to the 'Schedule' or 'Program' settings.
  4. Set desired temperatures for each time period (e.g., Early morning, Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Evening, Night) for weekdays and weekends.
  5. Save your schedule.

6.2 Zigbee Model Programming

The Zigbee model allows for daily programming with 6 distinct time periods for temperature settings each day.

  1. Open the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.
  2. Select your TRV device (connected via the Zigbee gateway).
  3. Navigate to the 'Schedule' or 'Program' settings.
  4. Set desired temperatures for each of the 6 time periods for each day of the week.
  5. Save your schedule.

7. Smart Home Integration

The Beok TRV series can be integrated with popular voice assistants for convenient control.

7.1 Voice Control with Alexa and Google Home

Once your TRV is connected to the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, you can link your account to Amazon Alexa or Google Home.

  1. Open the Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
  2. Go to 'Skills & Games' (Alexa) or 'Works with Google' (Google Home).
  3. Search for 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' and enable the skill/service.
  4. Link your Tuya/Smart Life account.
  5. Discover devices. Your TRV should now be controllable by voice commands.

Example Voice Commands:

  • "Alexa, set [Room Name] to 22 degrees."
  • "Hey Google, what's the temperature in [Room Name]?"
  • "Alexa, turn on the heater in [Room Name]."

8. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or in the app. Always use 3 new 1.5V AA alkaline batteries.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
  • Anti-freeze Function: The TRV automatically activates its anti-freeze function to prevent pipes from freezing if the temperature drops too low. Ensure batteries are always charged for this feature to work.
  • Anti-calcification Function: The valve periodically performs a self-cleaning cycle to prevent calcification, ensuring smooth operation over time.

  • Device not connecting to app: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and charged. For Wi-Fi models, confirm your router is 2.4GHz. For Zigbee models, ensure the gateway is online and within range. Try re-entering pairing mode.
  • Inaccurate temperature readings: Ensure the TRV is not obstructed by curtains or furniture, which can affect local temperature sensing.
  • Heater not turning off with open window: The window opening detection function needs to be turned on in the app settings. Refer to the app's specific instructions for activation and customization of this feature.
  • Valve not responding: Check battery level. If the child lock is active, unlock it via the app or by following the device's specific unlock procedure (usually a long press combination).
