Setup

1. Battery Installation:
   This tool is adapted for Makita 18V B series lithium batteries. Compatible models include BL1830, BL1850, BL1840, BL1840B, BL1850B (197285-8), BL1840B (197270-1), BL1830B (197602-2), BL1430B (197618-7), BL1820B (197487-6), BL1440 (196391-6), BL1415 (194560-3), BL1815N (196781-3).
   Not compatible with: DC18WA, BL1813G (196663-9), BL1413G (196882-7), BL1415G, BL1430G, BL1815G (G Series batteries), or 18V Ni-CD batteries like 1822 (194465-7).
   Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use. Align the battery pack with the tool's battery port and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
2. Accessory Attachment:
   Attach the desired socket or accessory to the 1/2" square drive. Ensure it is firmly seated.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off: Press the infinitely variable switch (trigger) to turn the tool on. Release it to turn off.
2. Speed Control (Stepless Speed): The tool features stepless speed control. The speed is directly proportional to how far you press the trigger. Press gently for lower speeds and harder for higher speeds.
3. Gear Selection: Use the 'MODE' switch on the display panel to cycle through the available gear settings (Low, Medium, High) for forward operation. For reverse, there are 2 gears.
4. Forward/Reverse Operation: Use the forward/reverse switch located above the trigger. Push it to the left for forward rotation, to the right for reverse rotation, and to the center for a static (locked) position.
