2. Setup Guide

2.1 Package Contents

Before starting, ensure all components are present:

  • Camera Body (e.g., XHU4003, XHU4002, XHU3011, XV2003 model)
  • 150X C-mount Lens

  • Power Adapter (US/EU plug, depending on region)

2.2 Assembly Instructions

  1. Attach the Stand: Secure the articulated arm stand to your workbench or desk using the clamp. Ensure it is stable. The maximum bottom mounting size is 50mm.
  2. Mount the Camera: Attach the camera body to the tripod head of the articulated arm. The tripod head allows for 360° rotation and 90° angle adjustment.
  3. Install the Lens: Screw the 1-150X C-mount lens onto the camera body.
  4. Attach the LED Ring Light: Secure the LED ring light around the lens.
  5. Connect Cables:
    • Connect the power adapter to the camera's DC 5-12V input and plug it into a power outlet.
    • Connect the HDMI cable from the camera's HDMI port to your monitor for HD picture and video output.
    • (Optional) For computer connection, connect the USB cable (Type-C or standard USB) from the camera to your PC. No additional power is required when connected to a computer via USB.
    • Connect the LED ring light to its power source, usually a USB port or a dedicated power adapter.
  6. Insert TF Card: Insert a TF card (up to 64GB, SDHC class10 recommended for 4K recording) into the camera's TF card slot for storing pictures and videos.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Operation

  1. Power On: Connect the power adapter and turn on your monitor/PC. The microscope camera will power on automatically or via a dedicated power button.
  2. Adjust Working Distance: Position the articulated arm to achieve the desired working distance (range 50mm-1000mm) from the object.
  3. Adjust Focus: Rotate the lens barrel to adjust the focus until the image on the screen is clear.
  4. Adjust LED Light: Turn on the LED ring light. Rotate the side knob on the ring light to adjust its brightness for optimal illumination.

3.2 Camera Controls (On-Screen Display & Remote Control)

The camera features physical buttons and a remote control for accessing and adjusting settings. The on-screen display (OSD) menu provides comprehensive control over image parameters.

Common OSD Menu Settings:

  • Language: Select English, Chinese, or Traditional Chinese.
  • Line Set: Enable/disable and adjust 16 datum lines (color, thickness, position).
  • Exposure: Set to manual/automatic or one-touch exposure. Adjust exposure compensation value.
  • White Balance (AWB): Set to auto/manual or one-key white balance. Adjust red, green, blue values.
  • Image Adjustments: Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, hue, edge, and noise reduction.
  • Record Size/Resolution: Select desired resolution for photos (e.g., 48MP) and videos (e.g., 4K, 1080P).
  • Mirror: Adjust image mirroring.
  • Monitor: Set aspect ratio (e.g., 16:9).
  • Freeze/Thaw: One-click function to freeze or unfreeze the live image.
  • Electronic Zoom: Magnify or reduce the image electronically.

3.3 Connecting to a Computer (USB/Type-C)

For advanced functions like measurements and detailed settings, connect the camera to a computer via USB or Type-C cable.

  1. Connect Cable: Use the appropriate USB or Type-C cable to connect the camera to your computer.

  3. Launch Software: Open the installed software. The camera should be detected automatically.
  4. Capture Photos/Videos:

    • Video: Click on the video recording option. A pop-up window will guide you through saving. Click the video option again to complete auto-save.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth and lens cleaning solution to gently wipe the lens. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the surface.
  • Cleaning the Camera Body: Wipe the camera body with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the microscope in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use protective caps for the lens when not in use.
  • Cable Care: Avoid bending or twisting cables excessively to prevent damage.

5. Troubleshooting

  • No Image on Monitor:
    • Check if the power adapter is securely connected and the camera is powered on.
    • Ensure the HDMI cable is correctly connected to both the camera and the monitor.
    • Verify the monitor input source is set to the correct HDMI port.
  • Blurry Image:
    • Adjust the focus by rotating the lens barrel.
    • Ensure the working distance is appropriate for the magnification.
    • Clean the lens if there is any dust or smudges.
  • Image Too Dark/Bright:
    • Adjust the brightness of the LED ring light.
    • Access the OSD menu (via camera buttons or remote) to adjust exposure settings (manual/automatic exposure, exposure compensation).
  • Computer Not Detecting Camera:
    • Ensure the USB/Type-C cable is securely connected.
