5. Setup Guide

  1. Charge Batteries: Fully charge the drone battery(ies) and the remote controller/motion controller battery using the provided USB cable and charging hub (if included). Ensure all indicator lights show a full charge before proceeding.
  2. Install Propellers: Carefully attach the propellers to the motor shafts according to the markings (e.g., clockwise and counter-clockwise). Ensure they are securely fastened.
  3. Insert Drone Battery: Slide the fully charged flight battery into the drone's battery compartment until it clicks into place.
  4. Power On: Press and hold the power button on the drone until the indicator lights illuminate. Repeat for the remote controller/motion controller.
  5. Pairing (if necessary): If the drone and controller are not automatically paired, follow the instructions in the DJI Fly app to establish a connection.
  6. Install DJI Fly App: Download and install the DJI Fly app on your mobile device. Connect your mobile device to the remote controller via USB cable.
  7. Firmware Update: Open the DJI Fly app and follow any prompts to update the drone and controller firmware to the latest version. This is crucial for optimal performance and safety.
  8. GPS Calibration: For outdoor flights, ensure the drone acquires sufficient GPS satellites before takeoff. Perform compass calibration if prompted by the app or if flying in a new location.

6. Operating Your DJI NEO

6.1 Basic Flight Controls

The DJI NEO can be controlled via a traditional remote controller, a motion controller, or the DJI Fly app. Familiarize yourself with the control scheme before your first flight.

  • Takeoff/Landing: Use the dedicated button on the controller or the one-tap takeoff/landing feature in the DJI Fly app.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone body, camera lens, and sensors. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

  • Storage: When not in use, store the drone and its accessories in a protective case to prevent damage.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Drone Not Powering On: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Check for any visible damage to the battery or drone.
