1. Introduction

The XHDATA D220 is a compact and portable multi-band radio featuring FM, MW (AM), and SW reception. Equipped with advanced DSP technology, it offers stable reception and clear, high-quality sound. 2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The XHDATA D220 radio is powered by two AA batteries (UM3 AA 1.5VX2), which are not included. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the radio.
2. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring to strictly follow the polarity instructions (+/-) marked inside the compartment. Incorrect installation can damage the device.
3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Important Battery Warnings:

• If the sound becomes low, distorted, or intermittent, it indicates that the battery voltage is too low. Replace with new batteries.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control

To turn the radio on, push the VOLUME switch clockwise until you hear a "click" sound and the power indicator light illuminates. To turn it off, push the VOLUME switch counter-clockwise until you hear a "click" sound and the indicator light turns off. The same VOLUME switch is used to adjust the listening volume.

3.2 Band Selection

Use the Band Switch (labeled '1' in the diagram) to select your desired frequency band: FM1, FM2, MW, or SW.

3.3 Antenna Usage

• For FM1-2/SW bands: Fully extend the telescopic antenna (labeled '3' in the diagram). Rotate the antenna and the radio body 360° to find the clearest and loudest reception.
• For MW band: The radio uses a built-in magnetic rod antenna. Rotate the entire radio 360° to find the angle where the reception is clearest and loudest.

3.4 Tuning

Rotate the TUNING knob (labeled '4' in the diagram) back and forth to select the desired station. Tune slowly to ensure precise station selection and avoid missing frequencies.

3.5 Headphone Use

The radio supports 3.5mm headphones. Plug your headphones into the Headphone Jack (labeled '2' in the diagram) for private listening. This allows you to enjoy your favorite programs without interruption.

4.1 Battery Care

• Always replace all batteries with new ones when the sound quality degrades.
• Never mix different types of batteries or old and new batteries.

5.2 No Sound or Distorted Sound

• Verify that the radio is powered on and the volume is turned up.
• Check the battery level and replace if they are low or depleted.
• If using headphones, ensure they are properly plugged into the 3.5mm jack and functioning correctly.

5.3 Radio Not Turning On

• Ensure batteries are correctly installed with the correct polarity.
• Replace batteries with fresh ones.
