4. Operation
After successful setup, proceed with the measurement process:
- Select Measurement Mode: Once powered on, the display will show options such as "Single profile", "Three profile", "Profile survey", "File explorer", "Settings", and "Services". Select the appropriate profile option (e.g., "Two-pole profile" or "Single Frequency") to enter the measurement interface.
- Lay Electrodes: Position the two electrode rods on the ground, ensuring they are crossed or placed as per your survey methodology.
- Perform Line Test: On the instrument's interface, click on "Line test". A green test light will illuminate, indicating that the line connection is normal.
- Set Measurement Parameters: Access the measurement parameters to configure settings such as measurement line number, depth, and gain. Confirm your settings.
- Start Data Collection: Initiate data collection. The instrument will automatically record data.
- Automatic Mapping: After data collection is complete, the instrument can automatically generate curve graphs and profile maps directly on the screen. This eliminates the need for external computer processing for basic visualization.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Deep Water Detector, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Keep the instrument clean and free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning the display and casing. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the detector in its original carrying case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Protect it from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
- Battery Care: The device uses a DC12V 4000mAh built-in rechargeable battery. Ensure the battery is charged regularly, especially before extended periods of storage, to maintain battery health. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all cables and connections for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion. Replace damaged cables immediately to prevent operational issues.
- Electrode Care: Clean the electrode rods after each use to remove any soil or residue. Store them properly to prevent bending or damage to the tips.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Deep Water Detector, consider the following common problems and solutions:
- Instrument Not Powering On:
- Check if the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the charger and try again.
- Ensure the power switch is firmly in the 'ON' position. - No Signal or Erratic Readings:
- Verify all cable connections are secure and properly seated in their respective ports.
- Perform a "Line test" from the menu to check the integrity of the measuring line and electrode connections.
- Ensure electrodes are properly inserted into the ground and making good contact.
- Check for strong external electromagnetic interference in the survey area. The device has strong anti-interference capabilities, but extreme conditions might affect readings. - Display Issues:
- If the screen is unresponsive, try restarting the device.
- Ensure the screen is clean and free from debris that might interfere with touch input. - Data Transfer Problems:
- Check the data cable/OTG cable connection to the device and the computer.
- Ensure the correct drivers (if any) are installed on your computer for device recognition.
