4. Assembly and Initial Setup

Follow these steps to assemble your vacuum cleaner and prepare it for first use.

4.1 Assembly

  1. Attach the Extension Wand: Align the electrical contacts of the extension wand with the main unit and push until it clicks into place.
  2. Attach the Floor Brush: Align the electrical contacts of the floor brush with the bottom of the extension wand and push until it clicks.
  3. Attach Accessories: For handheld use, attach the crevice tool or 2-in-1 brush directly to the main unit. For extended reach, attach them to the extension wand.

4.2 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the vacuum cleaner for approximately 4 hours.

  1. Connect the charging adapter to the charging port on the main unit.
  2. Plug the adapter into a wall outlet. The LED display will show charging status.
  3. The vacuum features a self-standing design, allowing it to stand upright independently during charging or breaks.

5. Operating Instructions

Learn how to effectively use your HOMPANY SmartVac 12 for various cleaning tasks.

5.1 Power On/Off and Mode Selection

  1. Power On: Press the power button on the main unit to turn on the vacuum. It will start in ECO mode.
  2. Change Modes: Press the mode selection button to cycle through ECO, MID, and MAX suction modes.
  3. Power Off: Press the power button again to turn off the vacuum.

5.2 LED Smart Display

The intuitive LED display provides real-time information about your vacuum's status:

  • Power Indicator: Shows remaining battery percentage (0-100).
  • Gear Indicator: Displays the current suction mode (Min, Mid, Max).
  • Floor Brush Stall Indicator: Illuminates if the floor brush is obstructed.
  • Full Cup Indicator: Alerts when the dustbin needs emptying.

5.3 Using the Floor Brush

The upgraded V-shaped floor brush is designed for deep cleaning on both carpets and hard floors, reducing hair entanglement and providing powerful suction.

6. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner.

6.1 Emptying the Dustbin

Empty the dustbin when the 'Full Cup Indicator' illuminates on the LED display or when visibly full.

  1. Ensure the vacuum is turned off.
  2. Position the dustbin over a trash can.
  3. Press the one-touch release button on the dustbin to open the bottom flap and release debris.
  4. Close the flap securely after emptying.

6.2 Cleaning the Filters

The vacuum features a multi-layer 5-cone filtration system, including a HEPA filter, which captures 99.97% of dust particles. Regular cleaning is essential.

  1. Ensure the vacuum is turned off.
  2. Twist and remove the dustbin from the main unit.
  3. Remove the filter components (stainless steel filter, multi-cone cyclone, HEPA filter).
  4. Tap off loose dust from all filter components.
  5. Rinse the washable filters under cold running water until the water runs clear. Do NOT wash the main unit or motor.
  6. Allow all filter components to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reassembling. Ensure they are completely dry to prevent damage to the motor.
  7. Reassemble the filters and dustbin in reverse order.

6.3 Cleaning the Roller Brush

Periodically check the roller brush for tangled hair or debris.

  1. Ensure the vacuum is turned off and disconnected from the extension wand.
  2. Locate the release tab on the side of the floor brush head and open it to remove the roller brush.
  3. Use scissors or a cleaning tool to cut and remove any tangled hair or fibers.
  4. Reinsert the roller brush and secure the release tab.
