5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Opening the Safe
Your Tenamic safe offers four primary ways to open it:

- Password + Knob: Enter your digital password on the touch screen, then turn the knob to open.
- Fingerprint + Knob: Place your registered fingerprint on the sensor, then turn the knob to open.
- Key + Knob (Emergency): Insert the emergency key into the hidden keyhole, turn it, and simultaneously turn the knob to open. This method bypasses the electronic lock.
- Password + Fingerprint + Knob: Enter your password, then place your registered fingerprint on the sensor, and finally turn the knob to open.

5.2 Setting/Changing Passwords
Refer to the specific instructions provided in your quick start guide or the full user manual for detailed steps on setting and changing passwords. Generally, this involves pressing a reset button (often located inside the safe door, near the battery compartment, or under a cover) and then entering your new desired password.
5.3 Registering/Deleting Fingerprints
The semiconductor fingerprint reader allows for quick and reliable access. Consult your specific model's instructions for adding or removing fingerprints. This process typically involves pressing a programming button and then repeatedly scanning the desired finger until it is registered.
5.4 Alarm System
The safe is equipped with an alarm system to deter unauthorized access. If 5 continuous incorrect fingerprint attempts or 3 incorrect password entries occur, the safe will emit a warning beep for 20 seconds. To stop the alarm, simply enter the correct fingerprint or password.
5.5 Internal LED Light
The internal LED light automatically turns on when the safe door is opened, providing visibility to the contents. It will automatically turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity or when the door is closed.
5.6 Removable Shelf
The safe includes a removable shelf to help organize your valuables. To adjust or remove the shelf, simply lift it from its supports and reposition as desired.

5.7 Secret Compartments
Some models may feature a 'Secret Space' with a 'Separate Box' or 'Hidden Lock Box' for additional discreet storage. Refer to your specific model's internal layout for these features.

6. Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace the AA batteries regularly (e.g., every 6-12 months) or when the low battery indicator appears to ensure consistent operation.
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the safe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
- Fingerprint Sensor: Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for optimal performance. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe it.
- Key Maintenance: Store emergency keys in a secure location away from the safe. Do not store them inside the safe.
7. Troubleshooting
- Safe does not open with fingerprint/password:
- Ensure batteries are not depleted. Use the external battery compartment if necessary.
- Verify correct fingerprint placement and password entry.
- Try using the emergency key to open the safe.
- Alarm sounds unexpectedly:
- This indicates multiple incorrect attempts to open the safe. Enter the correct fingerprint or password to disarm the alarm.
- Internal light not working:
- Check battery levels.
- Ensure the door is fully open to trigger the light sensor.
8. User Tips
- Register Multiple Fingerprints: For convenience and backup, register fingerprints from different fingers or even different users.
- Change Passwords Periodically: Regularly update your digital password for enhanced security.
- Test Access Methods: Periodically test all access methods (fingerprint, password, and emergency key) to ensure they are functioning correctly.
