4.1 Connecting the TX40
- Plug the TX40 into a compatible USB port on your source device (e.g., TV, PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch dock).
- If using with a Type-C port, attach the provided Type-C adapter to the TX40 first, then plug it into the device.
Image 5: Diagram illustrating the connection flow: Sound Source (Nintendo Switch, PC, Laptop) → TX40 Transmitter → Receiving Device (Bluetooth Headphones, Earbuds, Speakers).
4.2 Pairing the First Device
- Upon power-on, the TX40 defaults to reconnect mode, indicated by a slow flashing blue light.
- If no previous device is found within 20 seconds, it will automatically enter search pairing state, indicated by alternating red and blue lights.
- Put your Bluetooth receiving device (headphones, speakers, etc.) into pairing mode.
- The TX40 will automatically detect and pair with your device. Once successfully paired, the LED indicator will remain steadily on, and its color will change according to the active audio codec (see Section 5.1 for details).
4.3 Pairing a Second Device (Dual Stream)
The TX40 supports connecting two Bluetooth receiving devices simultaneously.
- First, ensure your initial device is successfully paired and connected.
- Turn off the first paired Bluetooth device.
- Unplug and re-plug the TX40 transmitter from its USB port.
- Put your second Bluetooth receiving device into pairing mode.
- The TX40 will automatically pair with the second device.
- After successful pairing, turn on the first Bluetooth device. The TX40 will automatically reconnect to both devices, supporting dual audio output.

5. Operation
5.1 Indicator Status and Audio Codec
The LED indicator on the TX40 provides visual feedback on its status and the active audio codec:
- Search for pairing: Flashing red and blue alternately
- Connection status (reconnect mode): Blue light flashes slowly
- Pairing successful: LED is always on
Audio Format Indicator:
- SBC: Steady blue
- Aptx: Steady cyan
- Aptx-LL: Steady white
- Aptx-HD: Steady green
- Aptx-Adaptive: Steady orange

7. Troubleshooting
7.1 No Sound After Successful Pairing
- Check the volume level of your receiving device (headphones, speakers).
- For PS5: Go to Settings (PS4 Peripherals) > Sound > Output Device, and select "USB Headset".
- For Xiaomi TV or Internet TV boxes: Audio output usually switches automatically.
- For Hisense Telecom TVs: Navigate to System Equipment > Audio Output, and select "USB Audio Device".
- For WIN10 computers: Go to Settings > System > Sound > Output device selection, and choose "TYL-DONGLE". If you do not require call functionality, ensure "TYL.DONGLE" is NOT selected in the input device settings to avoid affecting sound quality.
7.2 Pairing Unsuccessful
- Check the TX40 indicator light: If it is steadily on, it means the transmitter is already paired with another device. To pair a new device, you must first turn off the previously connected receiving device. Then, unplug and re-plug the TX40 to reset it into pairing mode (alternating red and blue lights).
- Verify receiving device pairing mode: Ensure your Bluetooth headphones or speakers are actively in their pairing mode.
- Reduce interference: Try to keep the TX40 away from devices that emit strong wireless signals, such as wireless routers, which can cause interference.
8. User Tips
- PS5 Usage: For optimal audio and voice chat on PS5, ensure you select 'USB Headset' as the output device in the console's sound settings after plugging in the TX40. This enables both game audio and microphone functionality through your Bluetooth headset.
- Adaptive Codec Compatibility: To fully utilize AptX Adaptive for better sound quality and lower delay, ensure your Bluetooth headphones or speakers are equipped with Qualcomm QCC 304x/51x series chips or later.
- Automatic Reconnection: The TX40 remembers up to 8 paired devices. After initial setup, it will automatically reconnect to previously paired devices when powered on and within range.
