4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Clipper

Before first use, fully charge the clipper. Use a 5V/1A adapter (not included) and the provided Type-C charging cable. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours and provides over 180 minutes of usage.

• Connect the Type-C charging cable to the clipper's charging port and a compatible power source (e.g., 5V/1A adapter, computer USB port, portable power bank).
• The digital display will show the battery level.
• The clipper supports charging while in use.

4.2 Installing the Blade Head

1. Turn the adjustable head dial to 1.7mm.
2. Align bulge (A) on the blade head with slot (B) on the clipper body.
3. Form an angle (C) between the blade head and the clipper body.
4. Firmly press the upper part of the blade head until it clicks into place.

4.3 Installing Adjustable Combs

The clipper comes with two adjustable combs: a 2-14mm comb for shorter styles and a 16-28mm comb for medium to long styles. To install, slide the desired comb onto the blade head until it securely locks.

Tip: When first using, it is recommended to start with the 16-28mm adjustable comb and gradually switch to a shorter one to avoid cutting the hair too short.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

Press the On/Off button to turn the clipper on or off.

5.2 Adjusting Cutting Length

The clipper offers precise length adjustments:

• Adjustable Head Dial: Use the metal-textured knob to fine-tune the blade's tooth pitch from 0.5mm to 7.7mm.
• 0.5mm to 0.8mm: Suitable for trimming sideburns and neck contours.
• 1.1mm to 1.7mm: Ideal for blending hair around the neck and sideburns.
• Adjustable Combs: Attach either the 2-14mm or 16-28mm comb to set a uniform cutting length.

5.3 Switching Speed Modes

The clipper has two speed modes:

• Powerful Mode (High-speed): Default setting for efficient cutting.
• Gentle Mode (Low-speed): Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to switch. This mode is recommended for children aged 0 to 12 years due to less noise and vibration, and for those with finer hair.

5.4 General Usage Tips

• Move the clipper smoothly and gently, avoiding rapid movements, especially during initial use.
• For an even cut, ensure the top of the adjustable comb remains in contact with the scalp.
• Since hair grows in various directions, move the clipper upwards, downwards, and across to cut against the direction of hair growth.
• For curly, sparse, or longer hair, brush the hair in the moving direction of the clipper for better results.
• Cut repeatedly across the entire head to ensure all hair is trimmed evenly.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Clipper

Always unplug the charging cable and turn off the clipper before cleaning.

1. Remove the blade head (refer to Section 6.2 for disassembly).
2. Use the provided cleaning brush to remove any hair from the blade head and the clipper body.
3. Rinse the blade head and clipper body separately under running water. The entire unit is IPX7 waterproof.
4. Wipe with a clean cloth and allow to air dry completely.
5. Reattach the blade head to the clipper.

6.2 Disassembling the Blade Head

1. Turn off the clipper.
2. Keep the clipper's front facing upwards.
3. Hold the clipper head with both hands, with your index fingers attached to the back of the blade head.
4. Push the blade teeth hard with your thumbs to remove the blade head.

Important: Remove the blade head with both hands to prevent it from falling and breaking. If the blade head is hot, wait for it to cool down before removal.

6.3 Lubrication

Regularly apply the provided lubricating oil to the clipper's blade to maintain performance, reduce friction, and prevent overheating and hair snagging.

• Before each use or after cleaning, add 1 drop of lubricant to each of the 5 spots shown in the diagram below.
• Only use specialized clipper lubricant. Using other lubricants may reduce cutting performance or cause hair snagging.

6.4 Blade Replacement

The MIJIA Hair Clipper 2 features a ceramic moving blade and a stainless steel fixed blade with DLC and graphite dual coating. These blades are highly resistant to wear under normal use and typically do not require replacement. If the blade head becomes damaged, it should be replaced to ensure proper function and prevent hair snagging.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your MIJIA Hair Clipper 2, please refer to the following solutions:

7.1 Clipper Cannot Be Turned On

• Check Buttons: Ensure the On/Off button is functioning correctly.
• Charge Status: Connect the clipper to a 5V/1A adapter and Type-C cable. Check if the digital display shows normal charging (lasting light status). If the battery level is low, charge for about 1 hour (should reach ~50%) and try again. If the issue persists, contact customer service.
• Error Codes:
  • E1: Blade head not installed correctly. Remove and reinstall the blade head.
  • E2: Battery overheat protection triggered. Turn on at room temperature (5°C to 35°C).
  • E3: Battery low temperature protection triggered. Turn on at room temperature (5°C to 35°C).
• Travel Lock: If the travel lock indicator blinks, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to unlock.

7.2 Clipper Cannot Be Charged

7.3 Short Battery Endurance

If the clipper's service time is less than 20 minutes after a full charge, the clipper may be malfunctioning. Please contact customer service.

7.4 Uneven Cutting or Hair Clamping

If you experience uneven cutting or hair clamping, immediately stop use. If hair is caught, carefully use small scissors to cut it away.

• Lubrication: Ensure the blade head is lubricated before each use or after cleaning.
• Battery Level: Low battery can decrease cutting power. Charge the clipper or use it while charging.
• Hair Residue: Accumulated hair residue in the blade compartment can clog the blades. Disassemble and thoroughly clean the blade head.
• Comb Selection: Ensure you are using the appropriate adjustable comb for your desired hair length.

7.5 Abnormal Sounds or Noise
