2. Propeller Installation (if needed)
If propellers are not pre-installed or need replacement:
- Match the propellers with the corresponding motor arms (usually marked A and B).
- Gently push the propellers onto the motor shafts until they are secure.
- Ensure all propellers spin freely without obstruction.
3. App Download & Connection (for FPV & Mobile Control)
- Scan the QR code in the manual or search for the official 4DRC app on Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS).
- Install the app on your smartphone.
- Turn on the drone and your smartphone's Wi-Fi.
- Connect your phone to the drone's Wi-Fi network (usually named '4DRC-V8' or similar).
- Open the 4DRC app to access FPV view and mobile control features.
Operating Instructions
1. Pairing the Drone and Remote Control
- Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
- Turn on the drone. The LED lights will flash.
- Turn on the remote control.
- Push the left joystick (throttle) all the way up, then all the way down. The drone's LED lights will stop flashing and remain solid, indicating successful pairing.
2. Basic Flight Controls (Mode 2 - Left Hand Throttle)

Figure 5: Remote control layout and functions.
- Take-off/Landing: Press the One-Key Take-off/Landing button, or push both joysticks diagonally outwards and down to start motors, then push the left joystick up to ascend.
- Ascend/Descend: Push the left joystick up to ascend, pull down to descend.
- Forward/Backward: Push the right joystick up to fly forward, pull down to fly backward.
- Turn Left/Right: Push the left joystick left to rotate left, push right to rotate right.
- Side Flight (Strafe): Push the right joystick left to fly left, push right to fly right.
- 360° Roll: Press the 360° Roll button and then move the right joystick in the desired direction for a flip.
3. Advanced Flight Modes & Features
- Altitude Hold Mode: The drone will automatically maintain its current altitude, making it easier to control. This feature is built-in for stable flight.
- Headless Mode: Press the Headless Mode button. In this mode, the drone's orientation is relative to the pilot, regardless of the drone's actual 'front' direction. Press again to exit.
- One-Button Return: Press the One-Button Return button, and the drone will attempt to fly back towards its take-off point. This feature is based on the drone's initial orientation and is not GPS-guided.
- Gesture Control: Use specific hand gestures to control the drone for takeoff, landing, or taking photos/videos. Refer to the app or manual for specific gestures.
- Trajectory Flight: In the mobile app, draw a flight path on your screen, and the drone will automatically follow the drawn path.
- Gravity Sensor Control: When using the mobile app, swing your phone from side to side to perform controlled flight maneuvers.
- Voice Control: Get close to your phone and issue flight instructions verbally (requires app functionality).

Maintenance
1. Battery Care
- Always fully charge the drone battery before use.
- Do not overcharge or completely discharge the battery.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If not used for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% capacity every 3 months.
2. Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the drone body and camera lens.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Ensure no dust or debris obstructs the motors or propellers.
3. Propeller Inspection
- Regularly check propellers for cracks, bends, or damage.
- Replace any damaged propellers immediately using the spare blades provided.
- Ensure propellers are securely attached before each flight.
4. Storage
- Store the drone and remote control in a safe, dry place when not in use.
- Remove batteries from the remote control if storing for long periods.
- Keep the drone away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Drone does not respond to remote control | Not paired; Low battery (drone/remote); Out of range | Re-pair drone and remote; Charge/replace batteries; Fly within range |
| Drone flies erratically or drifts | Uncalibrated gyroscope; Damaged propeller; Uneven surface at takeoff | Recalibrate gyroscope (refer to manual); Replace damaged propeller; Take off from a flat surface |
| Poor FPV video quality or no signal | Weak Wi-Fi signal; Too far from drone; Interference | Ensure strong Wi-Fi connection; Fly closer to drone; Avoid areas with high Wi-Fi interference |
| Short flight time | Battery not fully charged; Old/damaged battery; Aggressive flying | Fully charge battery; Replace battery if old/damaged; Fly more conservatively |
| One-key return not accurate | No GPS; Drone orientation changed after takeoff | The drone does not have GPS. One-key return relies on initial orientation. Ensure drone is facing away from you at takeoff for best results. |
User Tips
- Start Slow: If you're a beginner, practice basic maneuvers like hovering and gentle turns in a wide-open space before attempting advanced tricks or FPV flight.
- Check Environment: Always assess wind conditions and potential obstacles before flying. Even light breezes can significantly affect a mini-drone's stability.
- Battery Management: Keep track of your flight time. It's better to land early than to have the drone fall due to a depleted battery.
- Propeller Guards: Use the included propeller protection covers, especially when flying indoors or in confined spaces, to prevent damage to the drone and surroundings.
- App Exploration: Take time to explore all the features available in the 4DRC mobile app, such as trajectory flight and gravity sensor control, to enhance your flying experience.
