1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Senyang Alternating Pressure Air Mattress System, Model T08+P06B. This system is designed to prevent and treat pressure ulcers (decubitus ulcers) by providing alternating pressure relief for patients requiring medical care, particularly in hospital bed settings. It is suitable for high-risk care, including Stage IV special treatment.
The system comprises an air mattress with a cell-on-cell and cell-in-cell design, and a high-end air pump with remote control capabilities. Please read these instructions thoroughly before setup and operation.
2. Package Contents
Before proceeding with the setup, please ensure all components are present and undamaged:
- Alternating Pressure Air Mattress (Model APP-T08)
- Air Pump (Model APP-P06-B)
- Repair Kit
- User Manual (this document)
3. Setup Instructions
- Prepare the Bed: Place the air mattress directly onto a standard hospital bed frame. Ensure the mattress is centered and lies flat.
-
Position the Pump: Attach the air pump to the footboard of the hospital bed using the integrated plastic dipped hooks. Ensure the EVA cushions on the back of the pump provide stable contact with the bed frame.
Figure 3.1: Air Pump with EVA Cushions and Plastic Dipped Hooks - Connect Air Hoses: Connect the air hoses from the mattress to the corresponding ports on the air pump. Ensure connections are secure to prevent air leakage.
- Power Connection: Plug the air pump's power cord into a grounded electrical outlet (110V/220V, 50-60Hz).
- Initial Inflation: Turn on the air pump using the power button. The mattress will begin to inflate. Allow sufficient time for the mattress to fully inflate before placing a patient on it. This may take several minutes depending on the selected pressure settings.
-
Secure Mattress: Use the integrated straps and D-buckles to secure the mattress to the bed frame, preventing shifting during use.

4. Operating Instructions
The air pump features a control panel and a remote control for easy adjustment of settings.
4.1 Control Panel Functions:
- Power Button: Turns the pump ON/OFF.
- Pressure Adjustment (KG/mmHg): Use the up/down arrows to set the desired pressure range (30 mmHg - 80 mmHg). The display shows the current pressure.
- Cycle Time: Select the alternating cycle time (6, 9, 12, or 25 minutes) for air cell inflation/deflation.
- Panel Lock: Locks the control panel to prevent accidental changes.
- Seat Inflating: Activates a specific mode for seating, providing firmer support in the sacral area.
- Auto Firm: Inflates the mattress to maximum firmness for patient transfer or care procedures.
- Alarm Reset: Resets any active alarms (e.g., low pressure alarm).
- Normal Pressure/Low Pressure Indicators: LED lights indicate the current pressure status.
4.2 Remote Control:
The remote control duplicates most functions of the main control panel, allowing for convenient adjustments from a distance.
4.3 CPR Function:
In case of an emergency requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), pull the red CPR tab located on the side of the mattress. This will rapidly deflate the mattress to provide a firm surface for CPR.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning:
- Mattress Cover: The 4-way stretch PU cover can be wiped clean with a damp cloth and mild disinfectant. It features a zipper closure for easy removal if necessary. Do not machine wash or tumble dry the cover.
- Air Cells: If the cover is removed, the Nylon/TPU air cells can be wiped clean. Ensure they are completely dry before reassembling.
- Pump: Wipe the exterior of the pump with a damp cloth. Do not submerge the pump in water or spray liquids directly onto it.
5.2 Storage:
When not in use, deflate the mattress completely, fold it neatly, and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and sharp objects.
5.3 Leak Checks:
Regularly inspect the mattress and air hoses for any signs of leaks. If a leak is detected, use the provided repair kit to patch small punctures. For larger damage, contact customer support.
6. Troubleshooting
-
Pump not turning on:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional electrical outlet.
- Check the power switch on the pump.
-
Mattress not inflating or losing pressure:
- Verify that all air hoses are securely connected to both the mattress and the pump.
- Check for any kinks or obstructions in the air hoses.
- Inspect the mattress for any punctures or leaks. Use the repair kit for minor leaks.
- Ensure the CPR tab is fully inserted and not accidentally pulled.
- Check the pressure settings on the pump; increase if too low.
-
Alarm sounding:
- Identify the type of alarm (e.g., low pressure, power failure).
- For low pressure, check for leaks or ensure the pump is operating correctly.
- Press the 'Alarm Reset' button on the control panel or remote after addressing the issue.
