Important Safety Precautions

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, injury, or damage. This appliance incorporates 10 safety protection mechanisms to ensure safe operation.

  • Read all instructions carefully.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating.
  • Never force open the pressure cooker. Do not open until unit has cooled and internal pressure has been released.
  • Never fill the unit above the MAX fill line.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Wash the inner pot, sealing ring, and lid thoroughly with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
  3. Placement: Place the pressure cooker on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, away from walls and cabinets to allow for proper ventilation.
  4. Insert Inner Pot: Place the cleaned inner pot into the main unit. Ensure it sits correctly and is not tilted.
  5. Attach Lid: Align the lid with the main unit, ensuring the arrow on the lid points to the unlock symbol on the base. Rotate clockwise until the arrow aligns with the lock symbol.
  6. Sealing Valve: Ensure the pressure release valve is set to the 'Sealing' position for pressure cooking.
  7. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into the cooker and then into a grounded electrical outlet. The display will illuminate.

Operating Instructions

The LISM pressure cooker features a smart digital control panel for easy operation. It offers multiple cooking functions, including new Cake, Pizza, and Fried options, alongside traditional pressure cooking, rice cooking, slow cooking, steaming, sautéing, and yogurt making.

  1. Add Ingredients: Place your ingredients and liquid into the inner pot. Do not exceed the MAX fill line.
  2. Secure Lid: Close and lock the lid as described in the Setup section, ensuring the pressure release valve is in the 'Sealing' position.
  3. Select Function: Use the touch control panel to select your desired cooking function (e.g., Soup, Rice, Cake, Pizza, Fried, Meat/Stew, Slow Cook/Bean, Sauté, Steam, Yogurt). The digital LED display will show the default cooking time and pressure level.
  4. Adjust Settings (Optional): Use the 'Adjust' button to modify pressure levels (Less, Normal, More) and the '+' / '-' buttons to customize cooking time. The 'Timer' button can be used to set a delayed start.
  5. Start Cooking: The cooker will automatically begin the preheating process, then start cooking. The display will show the remaining cooking time.
  6. Pressure Release: Once cooking is complete, the cooker will beep. You can choose between:
    • Natural Release: Allow the pressure to dissipate naturally. This is recommended for foamy foods or large cuts of meat.
    • Quick Release: Carefully turn the pressure release valve to the 'Venting' position to quickly release steam. Use caution as hot steam will escape.
  7. Open Lid: Once the float valve drops, indicating all pressure has been released, twist the lid counter-clockwise to unlock and open.
  8. Keep Warm: The 'Keep Warm/Cancel' button can be used to maintain food temperature after cooking or to cancel a program.

Care and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life of your pressure cooker.

  • Unplug: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Inner Pot: The inner pot is dishwasher safe or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. For stubborn food residue, soak the pot before cleaning.
  • Lid: Wash the lid, including the sealing ring, float valve, and pressure release valve, with warm, soapy water. Ensure all food particles are removed from the valves. The sealing ring should be removed and cleaned separately, then reinserted correctly.
  • Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Storage: Store the pressure cooker in a dry place. You can invert the lid on the inner pot for compact storage.
