1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Jebao CP/SCP Series Wifi Cross Flow Pump Wave Maker. This device is designed to create natural water movement within your marine aquarium, promoting a healthy environment for your aquatic life. Utilizing advanced crossflow technology and SINE wave technology, these pumps ensure comprehensive water circulation without dead spots. Certain models also feature WiFi connectivity for convenient control via a mobile application.

2. Features

  • Crossflow Technology: Ensures water flow returns directly to the pump, creating 360-degree circulation without dead spots in the aquarium.
  • SINE Wave Technology: Generates various types of natural wave patterns, mimicking ocean currents.
  • WiFi Connectivity (SCP-M Series): Allows control and programming via a dedicated mobile application (Aqualink T1 Mobile controller).
  • Multiple Operating Modes: Customizable flow patterns to suit different aquarium needs.
  • Quiet Operation: Designed for low noise output.
  • Magnetic Mounting: Secure and easy installation on aquarium glass.

3. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove the pump, controller, power adapter, and any accessories from the packaging.
  2. Position the Pump: Place the pump inside your aquarium, ensuring it is fully submerged. Use the magnetic mount to secure it to the aquarium glass. The external magnet should be placed directly opposite the internal pump unit on the outside of the glass. Ensure the pump is positioned to create optimal water flow for your tank.
  3. Connect to Controller: Connect the pump cable to the designated port on the wavemaker controller.
  4. Connect Power Adapter: Connect the power adapter to the controller, then plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet.
  5. Initial Power On: Once powered, the pump will start operating. Observe the water flow and adjust the pump's position if necessary to achieve desired circulation.
  6. WiFi Setup (SCP-M Series only):
    • Download the Aqualink T1 Mobile controller app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
    • Follow the in-app instructions to connect your SCP-M series pump to your home WiFi network and configure settings.

  • H (Fixed Flow Mode): Provides a normal, constant flow rate at the speed output set by the knob.
  • W1 (WaveBox Function): A pulse mode designed to create wavebox functionality, generating rhythmic waves.
  • W2 (Positive Reversal Mode): Normal mode with a clockwise flow that reverses direction every 4 to 99 minutes.
  • W3 (Fixed Program Flow Model / Reef Mode): Simulates a more complex, random flow pattern typical of reef environments.
  • FEED Mode: Activates a 10-minute feeding mode where the pump temporarily stops to allow fish to eat without being disturbed by strong currents. The pump will automatically restart after 10 minutes.
  • P&N Button: Used to set the direction of flow.
  • LOCK: Locks the current wave setting.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Jebao wavemaker.

  1. Disconnect Power: Always unplug the power adapter before performing any maintenance.
  2. Remove Pump from Tank: Carefully detach the pump from the magnetic mount and remove it from the aquarium.
  3. Impeller Cleaning: The impeller should be cleaned regularly to prevent debris buildup and maintain efficient operation. Follow these steps:
    • First, deduct the buckle on the pump housing.
    • Carefully remove the impeller. Do not use excessive force to avoid breaking components.
    • Push the axis out towards the opening.
    • Remove the rotor and motor section.
    • Check for any debris in the rotating leaves and clean thoroughly.
  4. Housing Cleaning: Clean the pump housing and grilles to remove algae and detritus.
  5. Reassembly: Reassemble the pump components in reverse order, ensuring all parts are securely fitted.
  6. Test: Place the pump back in the aquarium, secure it, and reconnect power to test its function.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Pump Not Starting/No Flow:
    • Check if the power adapter is securely plugged into both the controller and the power outlet.
    • Ensure the pump cable is firmly connected to the controller.
    • Verify that the power outlet is functional.
    • Inspect the impeller for any obstructions or debris (refer to Maintenance section).
  • Warning Light On: If the 'Warning' light on the controller illuminates, it indicates abnormal operation. Please restart the pump after checking for any visible faults or obstructions.
  • Weak or Irregular Flow:
    • Clean the impeller and pump housing.
    • Ensure the pump is fully submerged and not drawing air.
    • Check for proper magnetic attachment; a loose pump can affect flow.
  • WiFi Connection Issues (SCP-M Series):
    • Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network (5GHz networks may not be supported).
    • Restart the controller and your router.
    • Refer to the Aqualink T1 app's help section for specific troubleshooting steps.

8. User Tips

  • Optimal Placement: Experiment with pump placement to achieve the best cross-flow effect for your tank. Aim for comprehensive water movement that reaches all areas, especially behind rockwork.
  • Diverse Flow Patterns: Utilize the various operating modes (H, W1, W2, W3) to create a dynamic and natural environment for your corals and fish. This helps prevent stagnant areas and promotes overall health.
  • Enhanced Oxygenation: The strong and varied water flow generated by the cross-flow pump significantly increases dissolved oxygen levels, which is crucial for the well-being and growth of your aquatic inhabitants.
  • Feeding Mode: Always use the 'FEED' mode during feeding times to prevent food from being immediately swept away, allowing your fish ample time to consume their meals.
  • Regular Cleaning: Adhere to a regular cleaning schedule for the pump and impeller to prevent calcium buildup and detritus accumulation, which can reduce efficiency and shorten the pump's lifespan.
