1. Introduction

The MatSee Plus ZigBee 16A Relay Switch Timer is a smart device designed for remote control and energy monitoring of electrical appliances. 2. Safety Information

  • This device is designed for AC power sources (110-240VAC 50-60Hz).
  • An inrush current exceeding 16 Amperes will automatically trigger the overcurrent protection and turn off the device. Ensure your connected load's inrush current does not surpass this 16 Amp limit.
  • The A1 and A2 terminals are for a contact switch only. Never input 220V or any high voltage to these terminals, as this will damage the device. Always refer to the detailed wiring diagram provided on the product or in this manual.

4. Setup

4.1 Wiring Diagram

Carefully follow the wiring diagram below to ensure correct and safe installation. Incorrect wiring can lead to device damage or electrical hazards.

Wiring Instructions:

  1. Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from your power source to the 'IN' terminals of the device.
  2. Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires of your appliance (load) to the 'OUT' terminals of the device.
  3. The A1 and A2 terminals are for an external contact switch (e.g., a doorbell button or another low-voltage control signal). Do NOT connect these to main power (220V or similar).

4.2 DIN Rail Mounting

The device is designed for easy installation on a standard 35mm DIN rail. Simply clip it onto the rail in your electrical panel.

4.3 App Pairing (Tuya/Smart Life)

To use the smart features, you must pair the device with a Tuya ZigBee gateway hub and the Tuya Smart Life app.

  1. Install the App: Download and install the 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' app from your mobile device's app store.
  2. Power On: Ensure the MatSee Plus ZigBee Relay Switch Timer is powered on. The LED indicator should be blinking, indicating it's in pairing mode. If not, press and hold the physical button on the device for a few seconds to initiate pairing mode.
  3. Add Gateway: Open the Tuya Smart/Smart Life app. Ensure your Tuya ZigBee Gateway is already added and online in the app.
  4. Add Subdevice: In the app, navigate to your ZigBee Gateway and select 'Add subdevice' or 'Add device'.
  5. Search: The app will begin searching for nearby ZigBee devices.
  6. Confirm Pairing: Once the 'Zigbee Timer & Meter' device is discovered, confirm its addition. The device LED will stop blinking and remain solid, indicating successful pairing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Remote Control via App

Once paired, you can control your connected appliances from anywhere using the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app.

  • Open the app and select your 'Zigbee Timer & Meter' device.
  • Tap the 'Power' button to toggle the connected appliance ON or OFF.

5.2 Setting Schedules and Timers

Automate your appliances by setting schedules or countdown timers.

  • In the device interface within the app, navigate to the 'Timer' or 'Schedule' section.
  • Schedule: Set specific ON/OFF times for different days of the week. You can create up to 30 programs.
  • Countdown: Set a countdown timer for the device to turn ON or OFF after a specified duration.

  • Indicator Mode: Configure the LED indicator to be 'Indicator LED off', 'Indicate switch on/off' (LED shows current status), 'Indicate switch location' (LED indicates switch position when off, useful at night), or 'Indicate LED on'.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on/off: Check power supply, app connection, and ensure the physical button is not stuck.
  • Device disconnects from app: Ensure your ZigBee gateway is online and within range. Check your home Wi-Fi network.
  • LED not blinking during pairing: If the LED is not blinking when attempting to pair, the device may not be in pairing mode. Press and hold the physical button on the device for several seconds until the LED starts blinking.
  • Device trips/shuts off unexpectedly: This indicates the overcurrent protection has been activated. The connected load likely exceeds 16A. Reduce the load or use a device with a higher current rating.
  • A1-A2 terminals not working: Ensure only a low-voltage contact switch is connected to A1-A2. Applying high voltage will damage the device.

8. User Tips

  • ZigBee Gateway is Essential: Remember that this device requires a Tuya ZigBee gateway hub to function as a smart device. It cannot connect directly to Wi-Fi.
  • Careful Wiring: Pay close attention to the wiring diagram, especially regarding the A1-A2 terminals. They are for control signals, not direct power.
