4. Setup Guide

4.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the ANCEL MR500 using the provided 12V 2A charger. Connect the charger to the device and a power outlet. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

4.2 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the power button until the screen illuminates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the power button, then select "Power Off" from the options on the screen.

4.3 Wi-Fi Connection

To access updates and remote support, connect the device to a stable Wi-Fi network:

  1. From the main menu, tap on "Settings".
  2. Select "Wi-Fi" and turn it on.
  3. Choose your desired network from the list and enter the password if prompted.

4.4 Software Download and Update

The device does not come with pre-installed software for specific marine brands. You need to download it after registration:

  1. Register an account on the device (if not already done).
  2. From the main menu, tap on "Upgrade".
  3. Select the "For SUZUKI" software package and initiate the download. Ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection during this process.
  4. The device offers 1 year of free updates via Wi-Fi.

5. Operating Instructions

The ANCEL MR500 provides a range of diagnostic functions for marine vehicles. Ensure the device is properly connected to the marine engine's diagnostic port using the appropriate cable (M062 or M069 for Suzuki, M001B for general connection) before starting any diagnostic procedure.

5.1 All Systems Diagnostic

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents. For the screen, use a screen-specific cleaner if necessary.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it in its protective case when not in use.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to about 50-70% and recharge every few months.

  • Ignition On: Ensure the marine engine's ignition is in the ON position (or engine running, as required by the diagnostic procedure).
  • Software Installed: Confirm that the correct diagnostic software for your marine brand (e.g., Suzuki) has been downloaded and installed on the MR500.

  • Network Availability: Check if other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi network.
