7. User Tips

  • Initial Power-Up: Always perform the pre-installation test with a 12V battery to confirm the unit is working before installing it in your vehicle. This helps identify any transit damage or wiring issues early.
  • Wiring Check: If you experience no sound or power issues after installation, double-check all speaker and power wiring. Incorrect connections are a common cause of problems.
  • USB/TF Card Compatibility: Ensure USB drives and TF cards are formatted to FAT32 for best compatibility. If a card isn't reading, try reformatting it or using a different card.
  • FM Reception: For optimal FM reception, ensure the antenna plug is fully inserted. If reception is poor, check the antenna connection or try a different antenna.
  • Remote Control: If the remote control isn't working, check its battery. You can test it by pointing it at a phone camera and pressing a button; if you see a light, the remote is transmitting.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1. Cannot Boot Normally

  1. Incorrect Wiring: The yellow, red, and black wires must be connected correctly. Yellow to positive, red to key control, black to negative. Incorrect or incomplete connections will prevent booting.
  2. Original Car Wiring Incompatibility: Do not connect original car wiring directly if colors do not match or if the original plug is incompatible. This can cause damage.
  3. Blown Fuse: Check the fuse on the yellow wire. If it's blown, replace it. If the fuse blows repeatedly, there might be a short circuit in the unit's protection circuit. Contact support if this occurs.
  4. Test with External Power: If the unit still doesn't boot, connect the yellow and red wires to a 12V positive power source and the black wire to negative. Press the power button. If it boots, the issue is with your car's wiring. If not, the unit may be faulty.

8.2. Automatic Shut-down

  1. Cable Error: If the blue (automatic antenna power supply) cable is connected to the unit's power cable, it may cause automatic shutdown. Ensure correct wiring.
  2. Unstable Voltage: Test the unit with a stable 12V-5A power supply. If it stops shutting down, replace your car's power supply. If it still shuts down, the unit may be faulty.

8.3. Noise Issues

  1. Speaker Power: If the original speaker power is too low, increasing the unit's volume will cause noise. Avoid excessively high volume.
  2. Grounded Speaker Cable: Ensure speaker cables are not grounded. Connect the iron speaker cable directly to the unit's speaker cable.

8.4. Remote Control Not Working

  1. Battery Check: Use a mobile phone camera to check if the remote control's IR emitter lights up when a button is pressed. If not, replace the battery. If it lights up, the remote is functional, and the issue lies elsewhere.

8.5. Settings Not Saved (No Memory)

  1. Incorrect Power Wiring: The yellow and red wires might be connected together (they should be separate: yellow to constant positive, red to ignition key control).
  2. Reversed Power Wires: The yellow and red wires might be reversed. Correct their positions.

8.6. Bluetooth Not Working

Ensure the unit is powered on and Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Search for "SWL-BT" and connect. If issues persist, try resetting the unit.

8.7. Product Emits Smoke

If the product emits smoke, immediately disconnect power. Replace the FUSE. If the problem is not resolved, the internal circuit may be burned. Contact support.

8.8. Sound Cannot Be Adjusted

Try resetting the unit or unplugging and replugging the power cord. If the volume knob is broken, it may need replacement.

8.9. USB Devices Cannot Be Played

Format the USB flash drive to FAT32. Re-download audio files and try again. If it still doesn't work, try a different USB flash drive.

8.10. FM Radio Not Receiving Stations

Ensure the antenna plug is fully inserted and the antenna cable is not disconnected. Try automatic station search (AMS/APS) or manual tuning. If problems persist, try unplugging the antenna and inserting a screwdriver or metal strip into the antenna jack as a temporary antenna to test.

8.11. No Sound Immediately After Installation

This usually indicates a wiring error or a short-circuited speaker wire. Check all speaker cables for short circuits and reconnect them. Verify that the number of speaker cables matches your car's original wiring (e.g., two speakers require four speaker cables).

8.12. No Sound After A While

Disconnect all speaker cables from the unit (do not remove them). Connect an external speaker to the gray and purple wires of the unit's tail line. If there is sound, the car's speaker line is short-circuited or the speaker is damaged. If there is no sound, the unit is faulty.
