4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Battery
- Connect the WA3713 charger to a standard 110-240V AC power outlet.
- Insert the WA3506 12V lithium battery pack into the charger.
- Allow the battery to charge until the indicator light on the charger signals a full charge (refer to charger manual for specific light indications).
- Once charged, disconnect the battery from the charger and unplug the charger from the power outlet.
4.2 Installing the Battery Pack
- Align the charged battery pack with the battery port on the tool handle.
- Slide the battery pack into the tool until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the battery release button (if present) and slide the battery out.
4.3 Attaching Accessories (Drill/Drivers - WU130X, WU131X)
- Twist the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
- Insert the drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck.
- Twist the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws securely around the bit. Ensure the bit is centered and firmly held.
4.4 Attaching Accessories (Impact Drivers - WU129, WU132X)
- Pull the collar of the hex socket chuck forward.
- Insert the 6.35mm (1/4 inch) hex shank bit into the chuck.
- Release the collar to lock the bit in place. Tug on the bit to ensure it is securely fastened.
5. Operation
5.1 Powering On/Off
Press the trigger switch to turn the tool on. Release the trigger switch to turn the tool off. The speed of the tool is typically controlled by the pressure applied to the trigger.
5.2 Forward/Reverse Rotation
A forward/reverse selector switch is located near the trigger. Push it to the left for forward rotation (for driving screws or drilling) and to the right for reverse rotation (for removing screws or backing out bits). Ensure the tool is stopped before changing the direction of rotation.
5.3 Speed and Torque Adjustment (Drill/Drivers - WU130X, WU131X)
- Speed Selector: Some models may have a mechanical speed selector switch (e.g., 0-500 rpm for low speed, 0-1800 rpm for high speed). Select the appropriate speed for the material and task.
- Torque Collar: Rotate the torque adjustment collar to select the desired torque setting (e.g., 20+1 settings). Lower settings are for driving small screws into soft materials, while higher settings are for larger screws or harder materials. The 'drill' setting bypasses the clutch for maximum torque when drilling.
5.4 Using Impact Drivers (WU129, WU132X)
Impact drivers are designed for driving fasteners quickly and efficiently, especially in tough materials. They deliver rotational force along with rapid impacts. Hold the tool firmly and apply steady pressure. The impact mechanism will engage automatically when resistance is met.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- Keep the ventilation slots of the tool clean to prevent overheating.
- Regularly clean the tool housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Remove any dust or debris from the chuck and bit holder.
6.2 Battery Care
- Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Do not store batteries in a discharged state for extended periods. Charge them periodically if not in use.
- Do not attempt to open or modify the battery pack.
6.3 Storage
When not in use, store the tool and battery in a secure, dry place out of reach of children. Remove the battery pack from the tool before storage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Tool not turning on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and properly inserted into the tool. Check the forward/reverse selector switch is not in the neutral (locked) position.
- Reduced power or short run time: The battery may need recharging or could be nearing the end of its lifespan. Ensure the battery contacts are clean.
- Bit slipping in chuck (Drill/Drivers): Ensure the chuck is tightened securely around the bit. The bit shank should be clean and free of oil or grease.
- Bit not engaging (Impact Drivers): Ensure the hex shank bit is fully inserted and the collar has snapped back into place.
