1. Introduction

The Teclast N15 is a compact and versatile Mini PC designed for a wide range of applications, from business office tasks and creative design to multimedia entertainment and casual gaming. Powered by an Intel N5095 processor and running Windows 11 Pro, it offers robust performance in a lightweight and space-saving form factor. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your Teclast N15 Mini PC.

3. Product Overview

The Teclast N15 Mini PC features a compact design with a sturdy aluminum body, weighing approximately 400g and having a volume of about 0.53L. It is designed for efficient heat dissipation and quiet operation.

3.1. Port Layout

Familiarize yourself with the various ports and connectors on your Mini PC:

  • Front: Full-Function Type-C, USB 3.2 x2, USB 2.0 x2, Headphone Output, Microphone Input, Power Button.
  • Side: COM Port (RS-232), DisplayPort, Micro SD Card Reader, Security Lock Slot (Kensington Lock).
  • Back: USB 2.0 x2, RJ45 Ethernet Port x2 (2.5GbE), HDMI Port, 5.25mm DC Power Input Port.

4. Initial Setup

4.1. Connecting Peripherals

  1. Connect Display: Connect your monitor(s) to the HDMI, DisplayPort, or Full-Function Type-C ports using appropriate cables. The N15 supports up to three 4K displays at 4096x2160@60Hz.
  2. Connect Keyboard and Mouse: Plug your USB keyboard and mouse into any available USB ports (USB 3.2, USB 3.0, or USB 2.0).
  3. Connect Network: For wired internet, connect an Ethernet cable to one of the two RJ45 Ethernet ports. For wireless internet, ensure your Wi-Fi network is available.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the 5.25mm DC Power Input Port on the back of the Mini PC, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.

4.2. Powering On

Press the Power Button located on the front of the Mini PC. The system will boot up, and you will see the Windows 11 Pro operating system.

4.3. VESA Mounting (Optional)

The Teclast N15 supports VESA mounting, allowing you to attach it to the back of a compatible monitor for a clean desktop setup. Use the provided VESA mount bracket and screws (if included) to secure the Mini PC to your monitor's VESA holes.

5. Operating Your Mini PC

5.1. Windows 11 Pro

Your Teclast N15 comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro, offering a modern and versatile operating environment. Follow the on-screen instructions for initial Windows setup, including language, region, and user account creation.

5.2. Everyday Use

The N15 is capable of handling various tasks:

  • Business Office: Efficiently run office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Multimedia Entertainment: Enjoy streaming videos, movies, and music in high resolution.

6. Connectivity

6.1. Multi-Monitor Setup

The Teclast N15 supports connecting up to three displays simultaneously via its HDMI, DisplayPort, and full-function Type-C interfaces. This allows for an extended workspace at 4K resolution (4096x2160@60Hz) for enhanced productivity.

6.2. Network and Wireless

The N15 is equipped with dual 2.5GbE RJ45 Ethernet ports for high-speed wired network connections. For wireless connectivity, it features Intel AC8265 dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4G+5G ac Wi-Fi) with 2x2 dual antennas, supporting speeds up to 867Mbps, MU-MIMO, and vPro Technology. Bluetooth 4.2 is also integrated for connecting wireless peripherals.

7. Storage and Expansion

The Teclast N15 comes standard with 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM and a 512GB PCIe 3.0 high-speed SSD for swift system startup and ample storage. It also features an M.2 A+E Slot for function expansion. Note that this slot is typically occupied by the wireless network card by default and may require replacement for other expansion purposes.

8. Cooling System

The N15 features an upgraded large-windowed cooler fan with a heat dissipation area of over 16000mm². It incorporates a Nickel-Plated Heat Pipe and a Turbo Fan for efficient heat transfer and silent operation, maintaining low noise levels (around 20-30dB) even under load. This ensures optimal thermal management without compromising performance.

The Intel N5095 processor offers significant performance improvements over the previous generation N4120, with gains up to 61.9% in Passmark, 45.9% in Cinebench R23 Single Core, 89.2% in Cinebench R23 Multi Core, 35.3% in Geekbench 6 Single Core, and 33.5% in Geekbench 6 Multi Core.

10. Maintenance

10.1. Cleaning

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the Mini PC.
  • For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.
  • Use compressed air to gently clear dust from ventilation openings periodically to maintain optimal airflow.

10.2. Software Updates

Regularly update your Windows operating system and drivers to ensure optimal performance, security, and compatibility. Windows Update can be accessed via Settings > Windows Update.

10.3. Storage Management

Periodically check your storage usage and remove unnecessary files or applications to free up space and maintain system speed.

11. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet. Try a different outlet if necessary.
  • No Display: Check all display cable connections (HDMI, DisplayPort, Type-C) to the monitor and the Mini PC. Ensure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input source.
  • No Internet Connection: For wired connections, check the Ethernet cable and router status. For Wi-Fi, ensure Wi-Fi is enabled in Windows settings and you are connected to the correct network with the correct password.
  • Slow Performance: Close unnecessary applications. Check for background processes consuming high CPU or RAM. Ensure sufficient free storage space. Run a malware scan.
  • Peripheral Not Detected: Try connecting the peripheral to a different USB port. Ensure drivers are installed if required.

12. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, especially during demanding tasks, ensure the Mini PC has adequate ventilation and is not placed in an enclosed space.
  • Utilize the multiple display outputs to enhance your productivity with an extended desktop setup.
  • Consider using the VESA mount feature to save desk space and create a cleaner workstation.
  • Regularly back up important data to an external drive or cloud storage.
