2. Package Contents

3. Product Overview
Familiarize yourself with the main components and controls of your HI-B5Pro radio:

- Antenna: For network signal reception.
- Volume Knob: Adjusts audio output level.
- Power Button/Lock Screen: Turns the device on/off and locks/unlocks the screen.
- Push to Talk Button (PTT): Activates Push-to-Talk communication.

4. Setup Guide
4.1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the radio is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
- Align the 4000mAh Li-ion battery (BT-B5pro) with the contacts in the compartment.
- Gently push the battery into place until it clicks securely.
4.2. Antenna Installation
- Locate the SMA-Female antenna port on the top of the radio.
- Screw the provided 4G 800-2655MHz SMA-Female antenna clockwise into the port until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
4.3. SIM Card Installation
- Locate the SIM card slot on the side of the radio, usually protected by a rubber flap.
- Open the flap and insert a Micro-SIM card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down and the notched corner aligned correctly.
- Gently push the SIM card until it locks into place.
- Close the rubber flap to protect the slot from dust and moisture.

4.4. Initial Power On
- Press and hold the Power Button (located on the top-left side) until the HIROYASU logo appears on the screen.
- The device will boot up and display the 4G LTE network status.
4.5. Network Connection (4G LTE & Wi-Fi)
Your device supports 4G LTE for mobile data and Wi-Fi for local network access.
- 4G LTE: Once a valid SIM card is inserted and the device is powered on, it should automatically connect to the available 4G LTE network. You can verify the connection status in the 'Mobile network' settings.
- Wi-Fi: To connect to a Wi-Fi network, navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi, turn Wi-Fi on, select your desired network, and enter the password if required.

4.6. Bluetooth Pairing
To pair with Bluetooth devices (e.g., headsets):
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
- Turn Bluetooth on.
- Select 'Pair new device' and choose your device from the list.
4.7. Language and Time Settings
The device supports multiple languages and automatic time synchronization:
- Language: Go to Settings > Languages & input > Languages to add or change the device language.
- Date & Time: Ensure 'Automatic date & time' and 'Automatic time zone' are enabled in Settings > Date & time for network-provided synchronization.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press and hold the Power Button.
- Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Volume Knob on the top of the device.
- Screen Lock/Unlock: Briefly press the Power Button.
5.2. Push-to-Talk (PTT) Functionality
The dedicated PTT button allows for instant communication through compatible PoC applications.
- Open your preferred PoC application (e.g., Zello, Real-PTT, Global-PTT, Pocstars).
- Select the desired channel or contact.
- Press and hold the PTT button to transmit your voice. Release to listen.

5.3. Making and Receiving Calls
The device supports standard phone calls via the 4G LTE network.
- Making a Call: From the home screen, tap the 'Phone' icon, enter the number using the keypad, and tap the call button.
- Receiving a Call: When an incoming call is received, you will see options to 'DECLINE' or 'ANSWER' on the screen. Tap 'ANSWER' to accept the call.

5.4. Sending and Receiving Messages
You can send and receive text messages (SMS) through the 'SMS' application.
- Tap the 'SMS' icon on the home screen.
- Select a contact or start a new message.
- Type your message using the on-screen keyboard and tap send.
5.5. Using PoC Applications
The HI-B5Pro is designed to work with various PoC applications. These can be downloaded and installed to enhance your communication experience.
- Supported Apps: Zello, REAL-PTT, Global-PTT, Pocstars.
- Installation: If not pre-installed, these apps can typically be downloaded from an app store or directly from the provider's website.
- Login: Each application will require you to log in with your account credentials.

5.6. GPS Location Requesting and Sharing
The device features GPS/Beidou navigation for location services.
- Go to Settings > Location.
- Ensure Location services are turned 'On'.
- You can set the location mode to 'High accuracy' for better precision.
- Location data can be requested and shared through compatible applications.

5.7. Adjusting Display and Sound
- Display: Adjust brightness and sleep settings in Settings > Display. The device features a 2.4-inch touch screen with 240*320 resolution.
- Sound: Control media volume and phone ringtone in Settings > Sound. The 2W 8ohm built-in speaker ensures clear audio even in noisy environments.

6. Maintenance
6.1. Charging the Battery
To charge the device:
- Connect the USB-C charging cable to the Type-C port on the radio.
- Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to the provided AC adapter.
- Plug the AC adapter into a power outlet.
- The charging indicator on the screen will show the charging status.
The 4000mAh battery provides approximately 35-40 hours of standby time and 12 hours of talking time.

6.2. Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Keep the charging port and other openings free from dust and debris.
6.3. Firmware Updates
HIROYASU regularly releases firmware updates to improve device performance, fix bugs, and add new features (such as Google Play support). To receive the latest firmware, please ensure your email address is provided with your order or contact customer support.
7. Troubleshooting
- Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is correctly installed and charged. Try charging the device for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on again.
- No network signal: Check if the SIM card is properly inserted and activated. Verify that you are within network coverage. Ensure the antenna is securely attached.
- Poor audio quality: Check the volume settings. Ensure the speaker is not obstructed.
- PoC application issues: Verify your internet connection (4G LTE or Wi-Fi). Ensure you are logged into the application with correct credentials.
- GPS not working: Ensure location services are enabled in settings and set to 'High accuracy'.
- Device unresponsive: Perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button until the device restarts. If the issue persists, a factory reset may be necessary (Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset - note this will erase all data).

- PoC App Compatibility: The device is confirmed to work with Zello and Echolink. If you encounter issues, ensure the app is updated and your network connection is stable.
