3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Component Identification
Familiarize yourself with the device's buttons and ports:

3.2 Helmet Mounting
- Attach the clip-on base to the side of your helmet.
- Secure the main unit (Q58-Max/Q28-2X) to the clip-on base.
- Install the speakers inside the helmet, ensuring they are positioned directly over your ears for optimal sound quality. Adjust their position if there is a significant difference in sound effect or volume.
- Connect the microphone to the device's speaker/microphone interface.
3.3 Micro SD Card Insertion
For dash cam functionality, a Micro SD card (up to 256GB, Class 10 recommended) must be inserted into the TF card slot. Ensure the card contains MP3 music files if you wish to use the music playback feature from the card.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
- Power On: Long press the Multi-function button (1) for 3 seconds. You will hear a power-on tone, and the LED light will flash quickly.
- Power Off: Long press the Multi-function button (1) for 3 seconds. You will hear a shutdown beep, and the LED light will turn off.
- Toggle Voice Announcement: Double-click the Multi-function button (1) to switch between Chinese and English voice prompts.
4.2 Bluetooth Connection
- Pairing: Long press the Multi-function button (1) for 3 seconds to turn on the device. On your phone, enable Bluetooth and search for "Q28" or "Q58-Max" to connect.
- Indicator Status: Before connection, the LED light blinks fast. After successful connection, the LED light blinks slowly.
4.3 Telephone Function
- Toggle Auto/Manual Answer: When Bluetooth is not connected, double-click the Volume + button (8) to switch between manual and automatic call answering.
- Auto Answer: The device will automatically answer incoming calls after 10 seconds.
- Manual Answer: Short press the Multi-function button (1) to answer a call.
- Refuse Call: Long press the Multi-function button (1) for 2 seconds to refuse an incoming call.
- End Call: Short press the Multi-function button (1) to end a call.
- Redial Last Number: Double press the Multi-function button (1).
- Cancel Call: Short press the Multi-function button (1) during an outgoing call to cancel.
4.4 Music Function
- Play/Pause: Short press the Multi-function button (1) to play or pause music.
- Previous Song/Volume Down: Short press the Volume - button (9) for the previous song. Long press for volume down.
- Next Song/Volume Up: Short press the Volume + button (8) for the next song. Long press for volume up.
- EQ Sound Effects: Double-click the Intercom button (2) to cycle through different EQ sound effects (Jazz, Natural, Pop, Country, Rock, Classical).
- Music Sharing: Short press the Music Sharing button (13) to enter music sharing mode. This allows two connected devices to listen to the same music.
4.5 Intercom Function (Q28-2X Specific)
- Pairing: With both devices powered on and not connected to Bluetooth, long press the Intercom button (2) on one device to enter intercom pairing mode. The green light will flash quickly, accompanied by a "intercom pairing" tone.
- Connection: After successful pairing, the green light on the intercom button will be on. When you hear a "thud" sound, you can initiate an intercom call.
- Intercom Back to Connect: After powering on, a short press of the intercom button (2) on one device will automatically reconnect to the last paired intercom.
- Third-Party Intercom: The device supports connection with third-party helmet Bluetooth headsets for intercom calls. After booting, long press the Intercom button (2) to enter talk mode. Once both devices are in Bluetooth mode, they will connect, and a "thud" sound will indicate successful connection.
- Reset Intercom Pairing: Power on without Bluetooth or intercom connection. Press and hold the Volume + (8) and Volume - (9) buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. Release when you hear a "thud" sound to restore factory settings and clear all pairing information.
4.6 Voice Assistant
- Activate: With Bluetooth connected, short press the Voice Assistant button (13) to wake up the AI voice assistant.
4.7 FM Radio
- Search and Store Stations: In FM mode, short press the Voice Assistant button (13) to automatically search and store available stations.
4.8 Dash Cam / Video Recording
- Recorder On/Off: Long press the Recorder On/Off button (11) for 3 seconds to turn the dash cam on or off.
- Recording On/Off: When the recorder is on, short press the Recorder On/Off button (11) to start or stop recording.
- Take Photos: Short press the Photo/WiFi On or Off button (12) to take photos. (Ensure WiFi is disconnected and not in recording state).
- Video Recording Time and Size: By default, video files are 5 minutes long. This can be adjusted in the APP.
- Recording Mode: The device uses cyclic video recording, automatically overwriting older files when the memory card is full.
- WIFI On/Off: Double-click the Photo/WiFi On or Off button (12) to turn WiFi on or off.
4.9 WIFI App Connection (Roadcam App)
- Download App: Search for "Roadcam" in your phone's app market (Android/iOS) and install it.
- Connect to Recorder WiFi: After turning on the recorder, double-click the Photo/WiFi On or Off button (12) to enable WiFi. On your phone, open WiFi settings, search for "YX-Q28-WIFI......" and connect.
- Real-time Video Recording: Open the Roadcam app, click the "Add Recorder" button, then click the "Recorder" button in the software interface to view real-time video.
- Setting Parameters: Pause live video recording in the app, then click the "Settings" button in the upper right corner to adjust various parameters.
- View Recorded Video/Pictures: Pause live video, click the "Video" button in the app to view recorded footage.
- View Downloadable Videos/Images: Click the "Select" button, choose videos, click "Download", then click "Albums" to view downloaded local videos.
- Background App Usage: If the app is running in the background, pause the video in the app or exit the WiFi connection from the device before closing the app to prevent potential crashes.

6. Maintenance and Care
- Charging: Fully charge the device before first use. To prolong the life of the built-in polymer battery, charge the device at least once a month.

7. Troubleshooting (FAQ)
- No sound when playing music via Bluetooth: Ensure the speaker/microphone interface is correctly and fully connected.
- Car recorder shuts down early: This is a normal phenomenon due to the car recorder's higher power consumption compared to Bluetooth. The Bluetooth function will continue to operate normally.
- Phone connects to recorder's WiFi but has no signal: This is a normal phenomenon as the app connects to the device's local area network (LAN), preventing internet access via cellular data or other WiFi networks.
- APP connection unsuccessful: Confirm that your phone's WiFi is connected to the device's WiFi name (e.g., "YX-Q28-WIFI..."). If issues persist, exit the app and reconnect.
- Charging red light not on: Verify the charging cable is correctly inserted into the charging port. If the voltage is too low, charge for at least 30 minutes.
- Bluetooth function automatically shuts down when charging: This is normal. It is recommended to turn off the car recorder during charging.
- Memory card issues: For high-definition video recording, a Class 10 high-speed memory card is recommended.
- Recorder crash: In case of a crash, long press the Recorder On/Off button (11) and Photo/WiFi On or Off button (12) simultaneously to reset and reboot the device.
8. User Tips
- Third-Party Intercom Compatibility: This device is designed to adapt to a wide range of third-party intercom systems, including those from brands like LEXIN, EJEAS, and Freedconn. For specific compatibility details, consult the seller or product support.
