4. Setup Instructions

Before using your new remote control, you will need to program it to match your existing remote or receiver. Ensure your original remote is functional and has a fresh battery.

4.1 Clearing Existing Codes (Reset)

It is recommended to clear any pre-existing codes from the new remote before programming.

  1. Press and hold the 'A' and 'B' buttons simultaneously on the new remote.
  2. The LED indicator will flash three times.
  3. While still holding 'A', release 'B' and then press 'B' three times.
  4. The LED will then flash continuously, indicating that all stored codes have been successfully cleared. Release both buttons.

4.2 Learning a New Code

This process copies the code from your original remote to a button on the new remote.

  1. Place your original remote control and the new AK-SF04B/4 remote control side-by-side, as close as possible.
  2. Press and hold the button on your original remote that you wish to copy.
  3. Simultaneously, press and hold the desired button (e.g., 'A', 'B', 'C', or 'D') on the new AK-SF04B/4 remote where you want to store the code.
  4. Hold both buttons until the LED on the new remote flashes rapidly. A rapid flash indicates successful code learning.
  5. Release both buttons.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for any other buttons you wish to program.

Note: If the LED does not flash rapidly, try repositioning the remotes or ensuring the original remote is transmitting correctly. Some rolling code remotes may not be compatible.

5. Operating Instructions

Once programmed, operating the remote control is straightforward:

  1. Point the remote control towards the receiver of the device you wish to operate.
  2. Press the corresponding programmed button (A, B, C, or D).
  3. The LED indicator will illuminate while the signal is being transmitted.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

The remote control uses a DC12V battery (commonly a 27A or 23A type, depending on internal design). When the transmission range decreases significantly or the LED indicator becomes dim, it's time to replace the battery.

  1. Locate the small screws on the back of the remote control.
  2. Carefully remove the screws and gently open the casing.
  3. Note the orientation of the existing battery.
  4. Remove the old battery and insert a new DC12V battery of the same type, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the casing and secure it with the screws.

6.2 Care and Cleaning

  • Keep the remote control dry. Moisture can damage internal circuits.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures.
  • Do not drop or subject the remote to strong impacts.
  • Clean the casing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not working after programming: Ensure the original remote is a fixed code or learning code type. Some rolling code remotes are not compatible. Re-attempt the clearing and learning process, ensuring the remotes are very close.
  • Short transmission range: Check the battery level and replace if necessary. Ensure there are no significant obstructions between the remote and the receiver.
  • LED not flashing during programming: The battery might be low, or the buttons are not being pressed correctly. Ensure you are holding both buttons simultaneously for the required duration.
  • Accidental code clearing: If the remote stops working, it might have been accidentally reset. Follow the 'Learning a New Code' instructions to reprogram it.

8. User Tips

No specific user tips are available from customer reviews or Q&A at this time. For best results, always ensure your original remote is functioning correctly before attempting to copy its code.
