1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the ORIA Digital Refrigerator/Freezer Thermometer. This device is designed to accurately measure temperatures in various environments, including refrigerators, freezers, cold storage, and laboratories. It features a large LCD display, high/low temperature alarms, and a memory function for maximum and minimum temperature readings. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper operation and to maximize the lifespan of your thermometer.

4. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the components and controls of your thermometer.

  • 2-inch LCD Display: Shows current temperature, alarm indicators (HI-AL, LO-AL), and mode (ROOM/FRIDGE).

  • MAX/MIN Button: Displays maximum and minimum recorded temperatures. Press and hold to reset.
  • Stand: Fold-out stand for upright placement.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the thermometer (refer to Figure 4.2).
  2. Open the battery cover.
  3. Insert one 1.5V AAA battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

5.2 Probe Connection

Connect the external temperature probe to the jack on the side of the main unit.

5.3 Placement Options

The thermometer offers three convenient ways for placement:

  • Stand: Use the integrated flip-down stand for tabletop placement.
  • Magnet: Attach the thermometer to any metallic surface using the built-in magnet.
  • Keyhole: Hang the thermometer on a hook or nail using the keyhole slot.
Three support methods for the thermometer: using the stand, hanging via keyhole, and magnetic attachment to a refrigerator door.

Position the external probe in the area where you wish to measure temperature, such as inside a refrigerator or freezer. The 1.5-meter cable allows for flexible placement.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

The thermometer powers on automatically once the battery is installed. There is no dedicated power button.

6.2 Switching Temperature Display (Room/Fridge)

Press the ROOM/FRIDGE button to toggle between displaying the ambient room temperature (measured by the main unit) and the temperature measured by the external probe (e.g., inside a fridge or freezer).

6.3 Changing Temperature Unit (°C/°F)

Press the °C/°F ADJ button to switch the temperature unit between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

6.4 Setting High/Low Temperature Alarms

The thermometer can alert you if the temperature goes above or below your set limits.

  1. Press the ALERT SET button once. The "HI-AL" indicator will flash, and the current high alarm setting will be displayed.
  2. Use the °C/°F ADJ button to adjust the desired high temperature limit.
  3. Press ALERT SET again to confirm the high limit and move to the low alarm setting. The "LO-AL" indicator will flash.
  4. Use the °C/°F ADJ button to adjust the desired low temperature limit.
  5. Press ALERT SET a third time to confirm the low limit and exit alarm setting mode.
  6. When the temperature exceeds the high limit or falls below the low limit, an audible alarm will sound, and the corresponding "HI-AL" or "LO-AL" indicator will flash.
  7. To silence the alarm, press any button.

6.5 Using the Memory Function (MAX/MIN)

The thermometer records the maximum and minimum temperatures measured since the last reset.

  1. Press the MAX/MIN button (located on the back) once to display the maximum recorded temperature.
  2. Press MAX/MIN again to display the minimum recorded temperature.
  3. Press MAX/MIN a third time to return to the current temperature display.
  4. To clear the recorded MAX/MIN temperatures and start a new record, press and hold the MAX/MIN button for approximately 2 seconds while viewing either MAX or MIN temperature.

7. Maintenance

  • Clean the thermometer and probe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
  • Ensure the probe cable is not kinked or damaged.
  • If the display becomes dim or erratic, replace the AAA battery.
  • Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
