5. Setup and Connection

5.1. Connecting to Nintendo Switch (Wireless Bluetooth)

  1. On the controller, press and hold the HOME button for approximately 3 seconds. The channel indicator lights (No.1-4) will flash, indicating it has entered Bluetooth matching mode.
  2. On your Nintendo Switch console, navigate to the Home menu.
  3. Select the "Controllers" icon, then choose "Change Grip/Order".
  4. The Switch will search for available controllers. Wait for the SW788 controller to connect.
  5. Once connected, you can directly press the HOME button to wake up the Switch console and reconnect the controller in the future.

5.2. Connecting to Nintendo Switch (Wired)

  1. On your Nintendo Switch console, go to System Settings > Controllers and Sensors. Ensure that "Pro Controller Wired Communication" is set to On.
  2. Connect the controller to the Switch console using an OTG conversion head and the provided data cable. Ensure the controller is powered on.
  3. The LED1 indicator on the controller will flash, confirming a successful wired connection.
  4. If using the Nintendo Switch dock, you can connect the controller directly to the dock's USB port with the data cable.
  5. After the initial wired connection, if you unplug the data cable, the controller may automatically attempt to connect wirelessly.

5.3. Connecting to PC (Wired/Wireless)

  • Wireless Bluetooth (PC): Press and hold the 'B' button and the 'HOME' button simultaneously to initiate Bluetooth search mode for PC.
  • Wired (PC - X-Input/D-Input): Connect the controller to your PC via the USB cable. To switch between X-INPUT Mode and D-INPUT Mode, press and hold the '-' button and the '+' button simultaneously for 3 seconds.

5.4. Connecting to Android/iOS Devices (Wireless)

The controller supports wireless connection to Android and iOS devices. Refer to your device's Bluetooth pairing instructions and the controller's Bluetooth search mode (similar to PC wireless connection) to establish a connection.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. NFC Function

The controller features a built-in NFC sensing function. When connected to the Switch host via Bluetooth, if a game supports the Amiibo function, you can use an Amiibo figure to activate corresponding in-game items or features by touching it to the NFC area (usually around the controller's logo).

6.2. Six-Axis Gyro Sensor Calibration

To calibrate the six-axis gyro sensor for precise motion control:

  1. While the controller is in sleep state, press and hold the Minus (-) button.
  2. While still holding the Minus (-) button, press the HOME button. The handle indicator lights will flash left and right, indicating entry into sensor calibration mode.
  3. Place the controller on a flat, horizontal surface.
  4. Press the Plus (+) button and release it. The controller will begin calibration.
  5. After calibration is complete, all four LED lights will illuminate for 3 seconds, and the controller will automatically enter sleep mode.

6.3. Vibration Adjustment Function

The controller features dual motors with four adjustable vibration levels:

  • 0% (Off Vibration)
  • 30% (Weak)
  • 70% (Medium) - Default setting
  • 100% (Strong)

To adjust the motor vibration intensity after connecting the controller:

  • Press the TURBO key and move the left 3D joystick up or down simultaneously.

6.4. Turbo Function

The TURBO function allows for continuous input of a button press, simplifying operations in games. This function is supported in any connection mode.

Buttons that can be set for TURBO function: A, B, X, Y, L, R, ZL, ZR.

  • Setting TURBO: Press the 'T' button and the desired Function Key (e.g., 'X') simultaneously.
  • Clearing Single TURBO: Press the 'T' button and the same Function Key again simultaneously to cancel the burst function for that specific key.
  • Clearing All TURBO: Press the 'T' button and the '-' (Minus) button simultaneously to cancel the burst function for all previously set keys.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the controller. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Charging: Charge the controller using the provided USB cable and a compatible power source (DC 4.7 ~ 5.5V). Avoid overcharging or completely draining the battery for extended periods.
  • Avoid Impact: Do not drop or subject the controller to strong impacts, as this may damage internal components.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Controller not connecting: Ensure the controller is charged. For Bluetooth, ensure it's in pairing mode and your device's Bluetooth is on. For wired, check cable connections and device settings (e.g., 'Pro Controller Wired Communication' on Switch).
  • Input lag or disconnection: Move closer to your device to reduce interference. Ensure no other strong wireless signals are interfering.
  • Buttons not responding: Try resetting the controller (if a reset button is available, otherwise power cycle). Ensure the controller is properly connected.
  • Gyro sensor not working correctly: Perform the six-axis gyro sensor calibration as described in Section 6.2.
  • Vibration not working: Check vibration intensity settings (Section 6.3) to ensure it's not set to 0%.
  • Controller not charging: Verify the charging cable and power source are working. Ensure the charging port on the controller is clean and free of debris.
